What I am reading and what I like what I’m seeing is that they’ve kept the entry cost low ($10)\, and focused on comic book writers and artists.\nThe entry fee is going up next year\, but it’s because they are moving to a larger venue. Details below.\nWe can’t keep it a secret any longer\, comic fans! First Coast Comic-Con returns July 11\, 2026 — and we’re leveling up. \nWe’re moving to a larger venue\, bringing in more vendors\, and adding on-site food options to enhance your experience. Influenced by 1960s girl groups\, pop bands\, the Beach Boys\, and early punk rock bands such as the Ramones\, the band crafts stripped-down songs with simple yet unconventional lyrics sung in both Japanese and English. \n\n\n\n Shonen Knifeshonenknife.net\n\n\nOsaka trio Shonen Knife originally formed in 1981 and features sisters Naoko Yamano (guitars/vocals) and Atsuko Yamano (drums)\, plus their college friend Michie Nakatani (bass).   Currently\, the trio features the two sister and drummer Risa Kawano (from the band Brinky).\n\n\nI’m happy to report that the trio decided to re-record their debut album Let’s Knife. The original album is long out of print and its songs are not on streaming…  so\, the band wanted to give fans an easier way to get that album\, but now re-recorded with better production.  The Let’s Knife Re-Cut comes out July 10\, 2026.\n\n\n          Shonen Knife at Fine Line Music Cafe\, Minneapolis (02 Oct 2019)       \n\n We saw Shonen Knife in Oct 2019 and wrote\, “As we’ve previously mentioned\, this is the closest we get to the original Shonen Knife\, as original drummer Mana Nishiura died in a car accident in 1999. Since her death\, the band took a break and Atsuko Yamano retired from the group. Atsuko would return to the group\, because Ritsuko Taneda went on maternity leave. Since 2015\, she’s been permanently part of the group (with current drummer Risa Kawano). As you can see from their setlist\, they mostly sing songs about food (with ice cream being the theme to at least three songs).
