SUMMARY:Mpls: The Wallflowers at First Avenue (June 13\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:The Wallflowers have announced a special 2026 US & European tour that will see the band perform their acclaimed 1996 album Bringing Down the Horse in its entirety\, alongside Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ Long After Dark\, also played front-to-back. The run marks the first time the band has performed Bringing Down the Horse in full in honor of the LP’s 30th anniversary and promises a unique live experience for audiences across the US and Europe. \nSpeaking about the tour\, Jakob Dylan said\, “Coming back after such a long time\, we wanted to do something special for the 30th anniversary of Bringing Down the Horse. We decided to play what seems to be our fans’ favorite Wallflowers album\, and for us\, we wanted to play one of our favorite Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers records\, Long After Dark.” \nReleased in 1996\, Bringing Down the Horse became a defining album of its era. The record sold over four million copies worldwide and produced four hit singles: “One Headlight\,” “The Difference\,” “Three Marlenas\,” and “6th Avenue Heartache.” At the 1998 Grammy Awards\, The Wallflowers won “Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group\,” while “One Headlight” was awarded “Best Rock Song.” The track remains a cultural mainstay\, topping Billboard’s “Greatest of All Time Adult Alternative Songs” chart in 2021. The album’s monumental success launched a career that now spans three decades.\nTom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ Long After Dark is widely regarded as one of the band’s finest works. A longtime admirer of Petty and the Heartbreakers\, Dylan was personally asked by Petty to induct him into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002. Their friendship was further highlighted in the 2018 documentary Echo in the Canyon\, executive produced by and starring Dylan. The film marked Tom Petty’s final on-screen appearance and became one of the top ten highest-grossing theatrical documentaries of that year. \nIn addition to revisiting these landmark albums\, The Wallflowers continue to build on their enduring legacy. Their 2021 release\, Exit Wounds\, reaffirmed the band’s signature sound — lean\, potent\, and entrancing. Uncut magazine praised the album\, writing\, “…Exit Wounds rocks with smouldering intensity\,” while MOJO declared in a four-star review\, “It’s his best original work by some years.” Pitchfork noted “the depth of experience deepens the traditionalism of Dylan’s music\,” Los Angeles’ KCRW called it “a beacon for us all\,” and SPIN described it as “a stunning body of work by anyone’s standards.” SUMMARY:Mpls: Five for Fighting & Edwin McCain at Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel (June 20\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:From “Superman” to “I’ll Be”… this is a concert you don’t want to miss 💙\n🎤 Five for Fighting & Edwin McCain are bringing the songs you grew up with to the Dacotah Exposition Center on Saturday\, June 20! It’s a night of memories\, sing-alongs\, and timeless hits you still know every word to.\n🎟 Tickets go on sale Friday\, February 13 at 10am\n📍 ticketmaster.com or the Casino Gift Shop\n🔞 18+ show\nOne night. Two iconic artists. All the feels. \nhttps://jackpotjunction.com/calendar \nGrammy® nominated\, platinum-selling artist\, Five For Fighting (John Ondrasik) and multi-platinum singer-songwriter Edwin McCain will team up for a summer co-headline tour bringing two of the most enduring catalogs to theaters and amphitheaters across the U.S. this June. Says Ondrasik\, “So looking forward to sharing the stage with Ed and his fantastic band while bringing fans back to the future!” Each night will feature Five For Fighting and McCain alternating closing sets. Tickets are on sale now HERE. Dates are listed below with more dates to be announced soon. \nOndrasik will bring along his band\, drummer Randy Cooke (Mick Jagger\, Ringo Starr\, Dave Stewart)\, bassist Sean Hurley (John Mayer\, Ringo Starr\, Alanis Morissette)\, and guitarist Peter Thorn (Chris Cornell\, Melissa Etheridge\, Don Henley)\, to play the songs his fans have loved for over two decades along with his recent viral hits. \nTo date\, Five For Fighting\, has released six studio albums\, including the platinum certified America Town and The Battle for Everything; and the top 10 charting Two Lights\, along with an EP and live albums. Ondrasik has penned major hits\, including the chart-topping “100 Years\,” “The Riddle\,” “Chances\,” “World\,” and “Easy Tonight\,” which have earned tens of millions of streams and place him as a top 10 Hot Adult Contemporary artist for the 2000s. The reflective “100 Years” has joined “Superman (It’s Not Easy)” as part of the American Songbook and continues to stand the test of time at weddings\, birthdays\, graduations\, memorials\, and many a home video. Five For Fighting’s music has also been featured in more than 350 films\, television shows\, and commercials\, including the Oscar-winning The Blind Side\, Hawaii Five-O\, The Sopranos and the CBS drama\, Code Black. \nOndrasik’s passion for supporting humanitarian efforts and freedom has been a longstanding commitment for the artist as well. Recently\, he’s been writing songs about key events around the world from a humanistic perspective including “OK (We Are Not Ok)” in response to the October 7th Hamas attacks in Israel\, while addressing the cultural aftermath both in America and around the world. On April 13 Ondrasik performed in Tel Aviv hours before Iran’s missile attack on Israel. Now\, “Superman (It’s Not Easy)\,” takes on new meaning as a tribute to Alon Ohel\, a 24-year-old hostage released by Hamas. \nOndrasik performed alongside Alon’s brother Ronen\, his mother Idit Ohel\, and a community of friends who gathered in Hostage Square\, Tel Aviv. Ondrasik’s revised lyrics turn pain into resilience. Watch the video HERE. \nOndrasik also wrote “Can One Man Save The World?” which was inspired by the courage of President Vladimir Zelenskyy and the people of Ukraine. He performed the song in Ukraine with the Ukrainian Orchestra amongst the ruins of the Antonov Airport in front of the Ukrainians’ beloved Mriya\, the world’s largest cargo plane that Russia destroyed at the outset of the war. \nAnd as a longtime supporter of music education\, Ondrasik teamed up with Let Music Fill My World again in 2025\, a privately funded non-profit launched by Tullman Family Office. The Music Matters Challenge is a nationwide competition aimed at rekindling the transformative power of music education in schools across the country. The winners were given the chance to make a lasting impact through the power of music and compete for prizes. \nAbout Edwin McCain: \nA major-label breakout in the mid-’90s with Honor Among Thieves\, Edwin McCain became a Top 40 mainstay and soundtrack favorite thanks to enduring smash hits like “I’ll Be” and “I Could Not Ask for More\,” earning a reputation as one of pop’s great romantics while sustaining a three-decade career. Last year\, the veteran singer-songwriter-guitarist released his 11th studio album\, Lucky—his first collection of new material since 2011—an expansive set that reflects his blues\, soul\, rock\, and folk roots while embracing fresh creative ambition. Adding to a banner year\, McCain was unmasked as “Nessy” on The Masked Singer\, making it all the way to the final six before losing by the closest margin in the show’s history\, less than 1%. \nFive For Fighting + Edwin McCain Tour Dates: \nJune 4 in Paducah\, KY at The Carson Center* \nJune 5 in Memphis\, TN at Graceland Soundstage At Elvis Presley’s Memphis \nJune 6 in Bowling Green\, KY at Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center* \nJune 7 in Lexington\, KY at Lexington Opera House \nJune 9 in Nashville\, IN at Brown County Music Center \nJune 12 in Sault Ste. SUMMARY:Mpls: Kim Gordon at First Avenue (Jun 24\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Kim Gordon releases her highly anticipated third solo album PLAY ME via Matador Records. PLAY ME processes\, in Gordon’s inimitable way\, the collateral damage of the billionaire class: the demolition of democracy\, technocratic end-times fascism\, the A.I.-fueled chill-vibes flattening of culture – where dark humor voices the absurdity of modern life. But despite its frequent outward gaze\, PLAY ME is an interior record\, one in which a heightened emotionality pulses through physical jams\, rejecting definitive statements in favor of an inquisitiveness that keeps Gordon searching\, ever in process. Listen here. \nEarlier this week\, she shared the title-track to the album along with a video directed by Barney Clay. The release follows singles “DIRTY TECH\,” a track that explores the power struggle between humans and robots\, a theme visually complemented by the Moni Haworth-directed video\, which features Gordon in an abandoned corporate office. The album’s lead track “NOT TODAY” was accompanied by a short film directed by Rodarte fashion label founders and filmmakers Kate and Laura Mulleavy with director of photography Christopher Blauvelt. Mulleavy and Blauvett spoke with Harper’s Bazaar about the video\, read the conversation here. \nGordon has announced a string of North American spring and summer tour dates\, including a show in Los Angeles at Sid The Cat on April 2\, and additional shows in Chicago\, Denver\, Minneapolis\, San Francisco\, Vancouver\, and more.
