SUMMARY:Mpls: Whitney at Turf Club (May 22\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Whitney at Turf Club (May 22\, 2026)\n\n\nMay 22\, 2026 Friday\nWhitney\nat Turf Clubfirst-avenue.com\n\nWhitney returns to the Twin Cities\, playing the Turf Club\, in St Paul\, on May 22\, 2026.\n\n\n Whitney \n\n\nWe saw Whitney in Oct 2019 and wrote\, “Whitney closed out the show. The most interesting thing about this Chicago band is that their singer is actually their drummer\, Julien Ehrlich. We saw the group in May 2016\, stating “The second they took the stage\, there was something familiar about them. Come to find out that two members of this band (Max Kakacek and Julian Ehrlich) are actually former members of The Smith Westerns (RIP). These guys had joined forces with members of a few other Chicago groups to form Whitney.” We soon realized that\, in fact\, the band is actually from the ashes of Smith Westerns… who we saw in August 2013: “Smith-Westerns took to the stage after 10 pm and kicked in to “Fool Proof\,” off of Soft Will. The guys played well despite the oppressive heat (lead singer Cullen Omori\, who was dressed in an ultra-thin\, billowy shirt\, looked like he might melt under the stage lights) and end-of-tour fatigue.””\n\n \nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading…

SUMMARY:Mpls: Smerz at The Cedar (May 22\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Norwegian duo Smerz announce their new Easy EP\, out May 15 via Escho. Introducing “Spring summer\,” the first single from the project\, arriving in the stillness before the seasons begin to change. Alongside the new music\, Smerz also share additional US tour dates for September\, including a return to Los Angeles for a headline show at The Fonda\, and first-time headline stops in Tucson\, Dallas\, and Nashville. (Full list of dates below.) \nEasy is a six-track EP\, which the duo describes as follows: “At the tail end of finishing Big city life last year\, we made the song “Easy” and from there went off on a tangent. Many of Big city life’s songs are rooted in specific stories\, this Easy EP presented itself in a more open-ended process—almost like a daily journal. It began as a snapshot of a moment\, one that was about to become our spring last year\, and was finished moving into spring of 2026.” \nIt’s already been a major year for Smerz. In March\, the duo took home two of Norway’s most prestigious music honors—the Spellemann Awards\, often regarded as the country’s equivalent to the Grammys—for International Success of the Year and Best Alternative Pop Album for Big city life. They also appeared on the cover of Homme Girls\, shot by artist Fumiko Imano\, announced upcoming support dates for Lorde in Los Angeles on May 14 and 15\, and saw their breakout track “You got time and I got money” featured in The Drama. \nBig city life was one of last year’s most celebrated releases\, landing across a wide sweep of year-end “Best Of” lists and earning Smerz a spot as an Artist to Watch from The New York Times. Meanwhile\, “You got time and I got money” continues to take on a life of its own online—captivating a global audience of cosmopolitan city-dwellers drawn to the tension between everyday reality and dreamlike escape. \nSmerz 2026 Tour Dates \nApril 23 – Bristol\, UK – Lantern Hall *SOLD OUT \nApril 24 – London\, UK – Heaven *SOLD OUT \nApril 25 – London\, UK – Heaven *SOLD OUT \nApril 26 – Dublin\, IE – Button Factory *SOLD OUT \nMay 2 – Oslo\, NO – Rockefeller *FEW TICKETS LEFT \nMay 14 – Los Angeles\, CA – Kia Forum w/Lorde \nMay 15 – Los Angeles\, CA – Kia Forum w/Lorde \nMay 17 – Salt Lake City\, UT – Kilby Block Party Festival \nMay 18 – Vancouver\, BC – Rickshaw Theatre *FEW TICKETS LEFT \nMay 19 – San Francisco\, CA – Great American Music Hall *FEW TICKETS LEFT \nMay 20 – Denver\, CO – Gothic Theatre \nMay 22- Minneapolis\, MN – The Cedar \nMay 23- Chicago\, IL – Warm Love Cool Dreams \nMay 24 – Cleveland\, OH – Mahall’s 20 Lanes \nMay 25 – Toronto\, ON – Opera House \nMay 28 – New York\, NY – Webster Hall *FEW TICKETS LEFT \nMay 29 – Boston\, MA – ICA Boston *FEW TICKETS LEFT \nMay 31 – Brussels\, BE – Nuits Botanique \nJune 6 – Barcelona\, ES – Primavera Sound \nJune 13 – Porto\, PT – Primavera Sound \nJune 21 – Prague\, CZ – Metronome Festival \nJune 22 – Vienna\, AT – Flucc Wanne \nOpening for Robyn: \nJune 26 – OVO Hydro\, Glasgow\, United Kingdom \nJune 30 – ING Arena\, Brussels\, Belgium \nJuly 18 – Avicii Arena\, Stockholm\, Sweden \nJuly 2 – Paris\, FR – Days Off Festival \nJuly 3 – Roskilde\, DK – Roskilde Festival \nJuly 17 – Dour\, BE – Dour Festival \nAugust 13 – Saint-Malo\, FR – La Route du Rock \nAugust 15 – Gothenburg\, SE – Way Out West \nAugust 21 – Wales\, UK – Green Man Festival \nAugust 29 – London\, UK – RALLY \nSeptember 6 – Los Angeles – The Fonda \nSeptember 7 – Tucson\, AZ – La Rosa \nSeptember 10 – Austin\, TX – Radio/East (Levitation) \nSeptember 11– Dallas – Tulips \nSeptember 13 – Nashville\, TN – Basement East \nSeptember 14 – Atlanta\, GA – Terminal West \nSeptember 16 – Durham\, NC – Motorco Music Hall \nSeptember 17– Washington\, DC – Howard Theater \nSeptember 19- Philadelphia\, PA – TBA \nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading…
