SUMMARY:Event: 12 Rods ( solo ) at 7th St Entry (Jan 7\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:12 Rods ( solo ) at 7th St Entry (Jan 7\, 2026)\n\nJanuary 7\, 2026 Wednesday \n12 Rods ( solo )\nwith Droid Bishop and North Innsbruck\nat 7th St Entry\nfirst-avenue.com\n12 Rods (Ryan Olcott) will be doing a solo show at the 7th Street Entry on January 7\, 2026.\n\n \n12 Rods at First Ave (July 14\, 2023)\n\nWe saw 12 Rods in July 2023 and said\, “Olcott seemed really pleased how their new record If We Stayed Alive turned out\, despite all the odds working against them. Some songs\, such as “Private Spies” were written over 20 years ago\, but finally put into recording. The first half of their setlist were songs from If We Stayed Alive Set\, showing us that all these songs can be played live\, and meant to be enjoyed live. The second part of their set were all older songs\, all their “hits”\, playing songs fans haven’t heard live in 20 years.”\nDroid Bishop and North Innsbruck to open.\nNorth Innsbruck writes:\n🚨 On January 7\, 2026 we’ll be joining Minneapolis’ own acclaimed Indy/Art Rock based @_12rods.official_ (Ryan OIlcott solo) and Synthwave legend @droidbishop for a very rare performance at Twin Cities sonic temple\, the famous @7thstentry! 🚨 \nTickets officially go on sale 11/13/26 at 11AM CT at http://www.first-avenue.com \n12rods: Indie experimental band celebrated for pioneering off kilter art rock\, earning early acclaim with Gay?\, which received a rare perfect score on Pitchfork\, collaborating with Todd Rundgren on Separation Anxieties\, shaping Midwest indie\, and returning with If We Stayed Alive. \nDroid Bishop: A leading synthwave producer known for cinematic retro futuristic soundscapes\, renowned albums like Lost in Symmetry and Rebirth of the Machine\, global festival performances\, and standout work on film\, game\, and commercial soundtracks that helped define modern electronic nostalgia. \nNorth Innsbruck: Minneapolis electronic project crafting Darksynth with a Post Punk edge rooted in vivid nostalgia and bold atmospheres. With widely praised releases\, dynamic live performances\, and collaborations across the Twin Cities arts scene\, the project continues expanding its sonic world through concept driven albums\, visual storytelling\, and immersive electronic sound design. \n\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...

Her set is different from show to show\, but she usually does “Rain Falls” and her sea-song “Captain Tory” (from the latest two-track single). Her forthcoming single\, “Selfish” is electric\, but without a full band\, she’s doing it acoustic style. The single is coming out October 4\, 2024. And as with all of her shows\, she always ends with “Third Time’s the Charm” (watch the video)\, however due to an audience’s request\, she played “Meant to Be”.”\nNATL PARK SRVC and Waking Hours to open.\nFINICK writes:\nTHIS IS NOT A DRILL: we’re playing the freaking Entry!!! \nI am unbelievably excited for this one. DESCRIPTION:Yam Haus at First Avenue (Jan 10\, 2026)\n\nJanuary 10\, 2026 Saturday \nYam Haus\nwith LAAMAR\nat First Avenue\nfirst-avenue.com\nLocal band Yam Haus will be headlining First Avenue\, in Minneapolis\, on January 10\, 2026.\n\n \nYam Haus at Lake Harriet Bandshell (August 1\, 2025)\n\nWe saw Yam Haus in Aug 2025 and said\, “Pruitt addressed the challenges by saying that once they sold out First Ave\, they thought the doors would open\, even writing about the band’s experiences with the song “Pop Game.” Their sound was definitely a perfect fit for the outdoor setting with fan favorite “Phoning It In” and a newer song “Misery Island” which seems to point the band into a more musically mature direction. They also played a song to be released on August 15th “Dollar Store Mansion” and a nice cover of Don Henley’s “Boys of Summer.” They even did an audible “Simplicity” that Felstow called out from behind his drum-set for he looked to be having as much fun as the fans who came to see him.”\nLAAMAR to open.\nYam Haus writes:\nwhat’s that??? an announcement??? Parr is\, quite simply\, a prolific artist. He has nearly 20 full length albums and an unbelievable number of other released material. He is a machine when it comes to shows\, including a January residency at Turf Club for the last several years. He plays a blues country/blues rock style both solo and in bands like this concert’s trio. Although no one was making a big deal of it\, the bassist for the trio was none other than Greg Norton\, of Hüsker Dü fame. SUMMARY:Mpls: Lana Leone at 7th St Entry (Jan 16\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Lana Leone at 7th St Entry (Jan 16\, 2026)\n\nJanuary 16\, 2026 Friday\nLana Leone\nwith 12th House Sun\, Dad Bod and Fend\nat 7th St Entry\nfirst-avenue.com\nLana Leone will be headlining the 7th Street Entry\, in Minneapolis\, on January 16\, 2026.\n\n \nLana Leone at Fine Line (Aug 15\, 2025)\n\nWe saw Leone in August 2025 and wrote\, “Lana Leone kicked the night off. Started by vocalist & guitarist Alana Christen\, the quartet (vocals/guitar\, guitar\, bass\, and drums) have released a 2025 full length album\, Spirea. Their first song highlighted the duality of their set: dreamy pop sounding lyrics but with the distorted heavy thrum of guitars. Heavy reverb opening the next number somehow still painted a low-key opening that gave way to a punishing middle section of guitars. Christen’s vocals were the calm at the center of that storm and held their own well. Guitarist Josh Frenier was the energetic one\, jumping quite a bit before then easily taking backing vocals.”\n12th House Sun\, Dad Bod and Fend to open.\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...

(Bob Mould also happens to be in town\, playing at The Palace on the 19th.)”\nEli Winter to open.\nCharlie Parr January 2026 Residency\n\n01/04 Elie Winter\n01/11 Daily Norm and Ced Ba Etch\n01/18 Kelley Smith\n01/25 Tony Polecastro\n \n\n\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...

SUMMARY:Mpls: Drama at Fine Line (Jan 23\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Drama\nthedramaduo.com\nChicago duo Drama had to cancel their upcoming Minneapolis show on January 23\, 2026\, at the Fine Line\, with special guest Blank Sense.\n\nMinneapolis family\, this one hurts. DRAMA is for the people and that means making responsible choices & unfortunately we need to cancel Friday’s show. We love you and we will be back soon. Please take care of each other. \nDRAMA \n\n \n\n Drama \n\nWe saw Drama on their very first Minneapolis appearance in October 2018 and wrote\, “Opening the show was Chicago-based duo Drama (not to be confused with UK’s Drama\, punk band Drama\, Norwegian pop rock Drama\, or New Jersey’s Dramarama). The R&B/dance group features singer Via Rosa and DJ/beats Na’el Shehade. This was the band’s first time in Minneapolis\, and they love it. The story that Rosa told about their secret origin as a band was that Shehade was working as owner/manager of three restaurants\, but he had always had a passion for being creative. The two met one day and he instantly wanted Rosa in his band. Rosa showed up to a rehearsal for this “band” and it turned out it was just the two of them in a studio. As history would have it\, the two hit it off and created their band Drama.”\nTour Dates 2026\n\nJan 24 –Chicago\, IL – The Salt Shed\nJan 26 – Detroit\, MI – Saint Andrew’s Hall\nJan 27 – Toronto\, ON – The Opera House\nJan 29 – Brooklyn\, NY – Brooklyn Paramount\nJan 30 – Washington\, DC – 9:30 Club\nJan 31 – Philadelphia\, PA – Union Transfer\nFeb 2 – Atlanta\, GA – Terminal West\nFeb 5 – Miami\, FL – ZeyZey Miami\nFeb 6 – Austin\, TX – Stubbs BBQ\nFeb 7 – Dallas\, TX – The Echo Lounge & Music Hall\nFeb 27 – Denver\, CO – The Mission Ballroom\nFeb 28 – Salt Lake City\, UT – Urban Lounge\nMar 2 – Vancouver\, BC – Commodore Ballroom\nMar 3 – Seattle\, WA – The Showbox\nMar 6 – Oakland\, CA – Fox Theater\nMar 7 – Los Angeles\, CA – The Wiltern\n\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...

SUMMARY:Mpls: Dean Johnson at Turf Club (Jan 24\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Dean Johnson at Turf Club (Jan 24\, 2026)\n\n\nJanuary 24\, 2026 Saturday \nDean Johnson\nwith Lily Seabird\nat Turf Club\nfirst-avenue.com\n\n Seattle-based songwriter Dean Johnson will be headlining the Turf Club\, in St Paul\, on January 24\, 2026\, in support of his Saddle Creek album I Hope We Can Still Be Friends.\n\n\nWe saw Johnson in Sep 2025 and wrote\, “Once again\, I found myself not knowing anything about an opening act and\, once again\, I was pleasantly surprised. Dean Johnson looks (at least from 200-feet) like he could’ve just stepped off of a horse he had ridden in from Wyoming. You know\, tired\, thirsty and dusty. No wait\, I mean he looks like a cowboy\, yeah that’s it. Turns out he’s from Seattle\, the son of a powerful mayonnaise magnate from Camano Island\, who has spent the last 20 years tending bar and honing his craft. Reading the article in the link just above\, helped me appreciate some of his stage banter. It describes him as a perfectionist\, which puts his comments to the crowd about messing up a lyric or chord into context. I certainly didn’t notice any mistakes. Of course\, as I said\, he was new to me. Maybe everyone else was laughing to themselves about his mistakes. Why is everyone so mean? He has a really nice voice\, which tends towards falsetto at times. His songs are pure Americana and his accompanying band were all professionals; their sound was tight. I don’t have a complete setlist because he didn’t tell us the names of his songs\, just what they’re about\, and he played a new song so setlist.fm can’t help us. One song that stuck out for me was “So Much Better”\, which he told us is about the exaggerated effects of electroshock therapy on the song’s protagonist and its set to a lovely tune. The band played for about 45 minutes and did themselves proud. They were an opening band worth seeing. Thanks\, Mr. Johnson. I hope you enjoy the ride back to Wyoming. I mean Seattle.” \nLily Seabird to open. \nTour dates\n\n19 Dec The Crocodile Seattle\, WA\n23 Jan Reverb Lounge Omaha\, NE\n24 Jan Turf Club St Paul\, MN\n25 Jan Vivarium Milwaukee\, WI\n27 Jan Longboat Hall Toronto\, Canada\n28 Jan Higher Ground South Burlington\, VT\n29 Jan The Sinclair Cambridge\, MA\n30 Jan Music Hall of Williamsburg Brooklyn\, NY\n31 Jan Pearl Street Warehouse ashington\, DC\n01 Feb MilkBoy Philadelphia\, PA\n03 Feb The Andy Warhol Museum Pittsburgh\, PA\n04 Feb The Southgate House Revival Newport\, KY\n05 Feb The Blue Room Nashville\, TN\n06 Feb Schubas Tavern Chicago\, IL\n\n\n\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...

Le Bon\, in her thick Welsh accent said\, “Wish ah could sae your city’s name. Ah just carn’t say it.” The first half of her set was almost exclusively songs from Crab Day\, including the first three songs ‘Crab Day’\, ‘Love Is Not Love’ and ‘Wonderful’ (which also appeared in the same order on the Drag City album). He is a machine when it comes to shows\, including a January residency at Turf Club for the last several years. He plays a blues country/blues rock style both solo and in bands like this concert’s trio. Lewis was incredibly pleased at the strong turn out with so many dedicated fans… it’s a very good sign for the first night of the The Future Is Bright US tour. SUMMARY:The Japhies ⏤ Reunion Show at 7th St Entry (Jan 29 2026)
DESCRIPTION:The Japhies at 7th St Entry (Jan 29\, 2026)\n\nJanuary 29\, 2026 Thursday \nThe Japhies\nwith The Modern Era\, Whiskey Rock ‘n’ Roll Club MPLS and DJ Mary Lucia\nat 7th St Entry\nfirst-avenue.com\n\nThe Japhies are excited to announce their Reunion Show at the 7th Street Entry\, in Minneapolis\, on January 29\, 2026.\n\n\nWe were originally supposed to see the Japhies at the Triple Rock Social Club in August 2013\, but the singer was hospitalized\, so we didn’t actually see the band until they opened up for Cherie Currie on August 11\, 2013. We described the Japhies as\, “Seems like the lead singer made a miraculous recovery\, as the band played tracks from their 22/3 album\, including “Darker Times”\, “Thrutch” and “Vacation Boogie”. They were loud and the drummer was encouraged to go nuts\, and everyone around me was impressed with the band. I’m glad I finally got to see them\, having missed them last Friday and missing them with Pink Mink last year.”\n\n\nThat was 13 years ago when I said everyone was impressed with the band. Do they still have it 13 years later? Find out at their Reunion show.\n\nThe Modern Era\, Whiskey Rock ‘n’ Roll Club MPLS and DJ Mary Lucia to open.\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...

SUMMARY:Mpls: Atmosphere at First Avenue (Feb 1\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Atmosphere at First Avenue (Feb 1\, 2026)\n\nFebruary 1\, 2026 SundayAtmospherewith Sage Francis • R.A. The Rugged Man • Kool Keith • Mr. Dibbsat First Avenuefirst-avenue.com\n\nMinneapolis rapper Atmosphere is back with the annual popular Rhymesayer show. By the time you read this\, it’s probably sold out. They’re that popular. This year’s Winter Carnival show will take place at First Avenue on February 1\, 2026.\n\n \nAtmosphere at Minnesota State Fair (August 23\, 2025)\n\n\nWe saw Atmosphere in August 2025 and said\, “The headliner was local hip hop band Atmosphere with Slug (aka Sean Daley) rapping\, Ant (Anthony Davis) on turntables\, and a DJ whose name I never did catch (sorry!). They started with Okay\, which was a perfect synopsis of the band. Slug’s calm but bright rapping\, good beats and music underneath\, and those lyrics being a weird mix of many of the negative things one can experience while always looking for the silver lining. While not doing a lot of moving around the stage\, especially compared to earlier acts\, Slug was very expressive with his upper body. Ant kept the music and turntables moving things along on the third song Shoulda Known. A good joke about the older crowd\, “It’s good\, I’m old too. We made it\, that’s a feat!”\, was a good bit of banter.”.\n\n\nSage Francis\, R.A. The Rugged Man\, Kool Keith\, and Mr. Dibbs to open.\n\nTour dates:\n\nJan 15\, 2026 Brooklyn Bowl Nashville Nashville\, TN\nJan 16\, 2026 The Masquerade Atlanta\, GA\nJan 17\, 2026 The Orange Peel Asheville\, NC\nJan 18\, 2026 9:30 Club Washington\, D.C.\nJan 20\, 2026 Capital City Music Hall Harrisburg\, PA\nJan 22\, 2026 Brooklyn Steel Brooklyn\, NY\nJan 23\, 2026 Citizens House of Blues Boston Boston\, MA\nJan 24\, 2026 Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia Philadelphia\, PA\nJan 26\, 2026 Town Ballroom Buffalo\, NY\nJan 27\, 2026 KEMBA Live!
