SUMMARY:Mpls: Cat Power at First Ave (Feb 26\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Cat Power at First Ave (Feb 26\, 2026)\n\n\nFebruary 26\, 2026 Thursday \nCat Power\nat First Avenuefirst-avenue.com\n\nCat Power is on tour in celebration of the 20th anniversary of her milestone 2006 album\, The Greatest. The tour will stop by First Avenue\, in Minneapolis\, on February 26\, 2026.\n\n\n Cat Power (vuart) \n\n\nWe saw Cat Power in March 2024 and wrote\, “The idea of this concert came from Cat Power’s love for Bob Dylan and her obsession of Bob Dylan’s “Royal Albert Hall Concert” in 1966 (which is actually a mislabeled bootleg for the Dylan’s Manchester Free Trade Hall in May 1966). The famed original performance saw Dylan playing a traditional acoustic and harmonica set… but then\, midway in his show\, he switched to electric – and that drew a lot of outrage from the purists in the crowd\, who did not want their rock ‘n’ roll in their folk. Cat Power took on the task recreating the original Dylan concert\, song-for-song… but in her own unique singing style and arrangement. The first part of the show\, is definitely a quieter set. The stage light is dimmed\, the hall lights are turned off\, it’s like you’re watching a musical. The audience was extremely respectful and quiet\, you can hear a pin drop (or a guy sipping his drink). The focus is on Cat Power\, with acoustic guitars from Henry Munson and harmonica/pianist Aaron Embry*.”\nTour Dates:\n\n\n02/12 – Houston\, TX – White Oak Music Hall (Downstairs)\n02/13 – Austin\, TX – ACL Live at The Moody Theater\n02/15 – Phoenix\, AZ – The Van Buren\n02/16 – San Diego\, CA – The Observatory North Park\n02/17 – Los Angeles\, CA – Orpheum Theatre Los Angeles\n02/18 – Oakland\, CA – Fox Theatre \n02/20 – Seattle\, WA – Paramount Theatre\n02/21 – Portland\, OR – Revolution Hall\n02/22 – Portland\, OR – Revolution Hall \n02/23 – Vancouver\, BC – Commodore Ballroom \n02/26 – Minneapolis\, MN – First Avenue\n02/27 – Chicago\, IL – Riviera Theatre\n02/28 – Detroit\, MI – Saint Andrew’s Hall\n03/01 – Toronto\, ON – History \n03/03 – Kingston\, NY – Ulster Performing Arts Center\n03/04 – Boston\, MA – Roadrunner \n03/06 – Brooklyn\, NY – Brooklyn Steel\n03/07 – New York\, NY – Webster Hall\n03/08 – Philadelphia\, PA – Union Transfer\n03/10 – Washington\, DC – 9:30 Club\n03/12 – Atlanta\, GA – The Eastern\n03/13 – Asheville\, NC – The Orange Peel\n03/14 – Nashville\, TN – Brooklyn Bowl Nashville\n10/07 – Helsinki\, Finland – House of Culture\n10/09 – Johanneshov\, Sweden – Fållan\n10/10 – Oslo\, Norway – Sentrum Scene\n10/11 – Copenhagen\, Denmark – Vega\n10/12 – Hamburg\, Germany – Docks\n10/14 – Warsaw\, Poland – Stodola\n10/15 – Berlin\, Germany – Huxleys Neue Welt\n10/17 – Cologne\, Germany – Live Music Hall\n10/19 – Vienna\, Austria – Wiener Konzerthaus\n10/20 – Munich\, Germany – Muffathalle\n10/21 – Strasbourg\, France – La Laiterie\n10/23 – Lausanne\, Switzerland – Les Docks\n10/24 – Lyon\, France – Le Radiant\n10/25 – Ramonville-Saint-Agne\, France – Le Bikini\n10/26 – Rennes\, France – Le MeM\n10/28 – Antwerp\, Belgium – De Roma\n10/29 – Amsterdam\, Netherlands – Paradiso\n10/30 – Luxembourg\, Luxembourg – Philharmonie Luxembourg\n10/31 – Paris\, France – Salle Pleyel \n11/02 – Bristol\, UK – Bristol Beacon\n11/03 – London\, UK – Roundhouse\n11/04 – Manchester\, UK – Albert Hall\n11/05 – Glasgow\, UK – Barrowland\n11/07 – Dublin\, Ireland – Vicar Street\n11/09 – Paris\, France – Salle Pleyel\n11/10 – Rouen\, France – Le 106\n\n\n\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...

SUMMARY:Mpls: Christy Costello & the CC Club at 7th St Entry (Feb 27\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Christy Costello & the CC Club at 7th St Entry (Feb 27\, 2026)\n\n\nFebruary 27\, 2026 Friday\nChristy Costello & the CC Club\nwith Edging\, Mary Jam and Catbath\n at 7th St Entry\nfirst-avenue.com\n\nMinneapolis’ Christy Costello\, billed as Christy Costello & the CC Club\, will be headlining the 7th Street Entry\, on February 27\, 2026.\n\n\n Christy Costello \n\n\nWe saw Christy Costello in Feb 2025 and said\, “Christy Costello started with a music video ahead of their appearance. Costello’s music has a more retro rock sound\, with a bit of a surf rock feel. It’s a sizable band with several members on brass and Monica LaPlante\, who we saw earlier this month\, on bass. This had great energy throughout\, with a secondary percussion member dancing and basically playing hype woman with the crowd. Costello’s vocals cut through the complicated backing music and there is a real showmanship in addition the great musical chops.”\n \n\nEdging\, Mary Jam and Catbath to open.\n \nChristy Costello writes:\n\nFriday February 27th we’re gonna bring the heat into the deepfreeze at The 7th St Entry!! We’re still riding the high of Saturday’s super fun high energy Turf Club Show! So we can’t wait to do it again and trickle in some killer new tunes at this one! I can’t express enough how lit this line-up is! Ticket link is are in our bios🎉 \nChristy Costello & The CC ClubEdging (Chicago)CatbathMary Jam \nFear no more freaks\, Edging is here to liberarte you with heavy riffs\, searing sax\, and queer chaos! Edgings punk fueled songs delve deep into the complexities of the human experience. Drawing from human rights\, trans and queer identities\, societies inevitable collapse and well\, frustration. The band channels this emotion into one of the most high energy shows you can experience. It’s high time the current world got fucked by an Edging show. \nCatbath took a few years long ‘cat nap’ and have recently returned to rock our faces! Incase you forgot they are Minneapolis-based indie/garage rock band known for catchy melodies\, fuzzy riffs\, and energetic live shows! \nPoster art by Sarah Wolf @cardinalsinofdullness Christy photos by Darin Kamnetz @darin_k_ \n\n\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...

SUMMARY:Mpls: Margo Price at First Avenue (Mar 1\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Margo Price at First Avenue (Mar 1\, 2026)\n\n\nMarch 1\, 2026 Sunday\nMargo Price\nwith Meels\n at First Avenue\nfirst-avenue.com\n\nMargo Price will be bringing her “Wild At Heart Tour” tour to First Avenue\, on March 1\, 2026.\n\n\nThe ticket limit is strict. Any attempt to exceed the posted ticket limit per customer or household\, or to game the system in any way\, will result in cancellation of orders without notice. There is a transfer delay for all tickets prior to the show.\n\n\n\n\n Margo Price at Turf Club\, St Paul (22 June 2016) \n\n\nWe saw Price in June 2016 and said\, “Local station 89.3 The Current is deep into a series of these microshows (sponsored by New Belgium Brewing) and has previously featured acts like Lissie\, Bob Mould\, and Jack Garratt in small spaces for abbreviated\, usually happy-hour performances. The latest in the series was up-and-coming country singer-songwriter Margo Price. The Turf Club in St. Paul was the location of last week’s show- a recently refurbished venue that holds just over 300 people\, and the perfect setting for Price (its signing proudly proclaiming it “the best remnant of the ‘40’s”)\, in support of debut full-length\, Midwest Farmer’s Daughter (named after The Beach Boys’ lyric)\, out on Jack White’s Third Man Records. Price appeared solo with guitar\, playing an endearing thirty minutes for an appreciative crowd that no doubt wanted more. The Illinois native has more than paid her dues\, and the road to get where she is today\, is often referenced in her songwriting. DESCRIPTION:Lights at Amsterdam Bar (March 4\, 2026)\n\n\nMarch 4\, 2026 Wednesday \nLights\nwith Softcultat Amsterdam Bar & Hallamsterdambarandhall.com\n\nLights is back in Minnesota\, playing the Amsterdam Bar & Hall\, in St Paul\, on March 4\, 2026.\n\n\n Lights \n\n\nWe saw Lights in May 2022 and said\, “After the country’s lockdown due to the pandemic\, Lights planned her return to touring by writing new songs on PƎP . The intro song\, “Prodigal Daughter”\, with the backdrop of “I’m Back”\, really set the tone that it’s been a while\, but she’s excited to be back and playing live music. Part of the fun of her show is watching the background video\, which had a lot of hidden Easter eggs\, for old Lights fans to enjoy. For example\, you can see footage of her character avatars from a video game or images from her comic book. It was cool if you knew it\, but it wasn’t terrible if you didn’t understand it. SUMMARY:Mpls: DREW & ELLIE HOLCOMB at The Fitzgerald Theater (Mar 6\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Drew & Ellie Holcomb at The Fitzgerald Theater (Mar 6\, 2026)\n\n\nMarch 6\, 2026 Friday\nDrew & Ellie Holcomb\n at Fitzgerald Theater \nfirst-avenue.com\n\nBeloved husband-and-wife duo Drew & Ellie Holcomb will be headlining Fitzgerald Theater\, in St Paul\, on March 6\, 2026. The couple was last seen at the Fitzgerald Theater\, in St Paul\, on Mar 2025.\n\n\nDrew & Ellie Holcomb have partnered with the anti-slavery non-profit International Justice Mission to donate $1 (one dollar) from each ticket sale to support the organization’s efforts to rescue children trapped in modern-day slavery and protect people in poverty from violence.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Drew Holcomb \n\n\nWe saw Drew Holcomb in Sep 2023 and said\, “Drew Holcomb (billed as Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors) came out excited and stating how amazing it was to be at First Avenue’s main room. The singer said that it was their goal to play this room and so it was such an honor that so many diehard fans have come out to support the group. The group prides themselves as knowing everybody in the audience (and I believe them!). First Avenue was\, by far\, the largest venue as headliner\, having played the tiny 7th Street Entry in March 2012 and at the now-defunct Triple Rock Social Club in September 2013. Every time they come back\, they got a larger crowd and larger stage.”\nDrew & Ellie Holcomb: Never Gonna Let You Go Tour (2026) \n\nFebruary 7 — Lincoln Theatre — Washington\, DC\nFebruary 11 — Florida Theatre — Jacksonville\, FL\nFebruary 12 — Knight Theater — Charlotte\, NC\nFebruary 13 — New Barn Theatre — Mount Vernon\, KY\nFebruary 14 — Tennessee Theatre — Knoxville\, TN\nFebruary 19 — The Carolina Theatre — Durham\, NC\nFebruary 20 — Atlanta Symphony Hall — Atlanta\, GA\nFebruary 21 — Oxford Performing Arts Center — Oxford\, AL\nFebruary 22 — Charleston Music Hall — Charleston\, SC\nMarch 3 — Egyptian Room at Old National Centre — Indianapolis\, IN\nMarch 4 — The Pabst Theater — Milwaukee\, WI\nMarch 6 — Fitzgerald Theater — Saint Paul\, MN\nMarch 7 — Rialto Square Theatre — Joliet\, IL\nMarch 8 — The Pageant — St. Louis\, MO\nMarch 20 — Vilar Performing Arts Center — Beaver Creek\, CO\nApril 15 — Tulsa Theater — Tulsa\, OK\nApril 16 — Uptown Theater — Kansas City\, MO\nApril 17 — Paramount Theatre — Denver\, CO\nApril 19 — Virginia G. DESCRIPTION:John Oates at Dakota Jazz Club (Mar 6\, 2026)\n\n\nMarch 6\, 2026 Friday \nJohn Oates\nat Dakota Jazz Clubdakotacooks.com\n\nMulti-genre musician John Oates\, one half of Hall & Oates\, will be heading to the Dakota Jazz Club\, in Minneapolis\, MN on March 6\, 2026.\n\n\n Hall and Oates at Xcel Energy Center\, St Paul (11 May 2017) \n\nWe saw Hall & Oates in May 2017 and said\, “2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Daryl Hall and John Oates next took to the stage\, as St. Paul became Philadelphia for their headlining set\, clocked just shy of two-hours. Though the pair hasn’t released an album in more than a decade\, they have been busy separately as well as touring together sporadically. John Oates has a successful solo career\, having played the Dakota locally\, and recently authored a memoir\, Change of Seasons\, released in March. Daryl Hall has released a handful of solo albums as well\, probably now best known for his Live from Daryl’s House program\, airing since 2007.”\nTour Dates:\n\nFeb 20 Nashville\, TN · 3rd & Lindsley Bar & Grill\nMar 1 Anna Maria\, FL · The Center of Anna Maria Island\nMar 3 Palm Valley\, FL · Ponte Vedra Concert Hall\nMar 6 Minneapolis\, MN · Dakota\nMar 6 Minneapolis\, MN · Dakota (9pm)\nMar 7 Waukegan\, IL · Genesee Theatre\nMar 13 Atlantic City\, NJ · The Music Box\nMar 15 Montville\, CT · The Cabaret Theatre\nMar 19 Huntsville\, AL · Mars Music Hall\nMar 21 Boca Raton\, FL · Mizner Park Amphitheater\n\n\n\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...

We saw them in March 2025 and wrote\, “Next up was buzzing sister duo Girl Tones\, aka Kenzie and Laila Crowe\, who have a handful of singles out\, including latest\, “I Know You Know” and last year’s “Fade Away” produced by Cage the Elephant’s Brad Schultz\, who reached out to the pair on social media\, wanting to work with them. Their sound is a raw bluesy mix of riot grrrl and garage rock\, full of jagged riffs and pounding beats with guitarist Kenzie determined to work up the crowd into a lather. “Blame” is planned to be the next single (complete with a new music video) and the pair was happy to be playing\, though admitted forty-seven days on the road (after opening for Cage in Europe) was a little tiring\, though still managed to turn it up to eleven for the closing\, “Fade Away”. ”. \n\nTour Dates:\n\nFeb 28 Philadelphia\, PA · Theatre of The Living Arts\nMar 2 Toronto\, Canada · Danforth Music Hall\nMar 3 Detroit\, MI · Saint Andrew’s Hall\nMar 5 Chicago\, IL · House of Blues Chicago\nMar 6 Madison\, WI · Majestic Theatre\nMar 7 Minneapolis\, MN · First Avenue\nMar 9 Omaha\, NE · Slowdown\nMar10 KCMO\, MO · The Truman\nMar 12 Oklahoma City\, OK · Beer City Music Hall\nMar 13 Fort Worth\, TX · Tannahill’s Tavern & Music Hall\nMar 14 Dallas\, TX · The Echo Lounge & Music Hall\nMar 18 London\, United Kingdom · The Garage\nMar 20 Paris\, France · Backstage By The Mill\nMar 22 Amsterdam\, Netherlands · Melkweg\nMar 23 Cologne\, Germany · Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld\nMar 24 Zürich\, Switzerland · EXIL\nMar 26 Bologna\, Italy · Covo Club\nMar28 Prague\, Czechia · Fuchs2\nMar29 Prague\, Czechia · Fuchs2\nMar 29Vienna\, Austria · Szene Wien\n \n\n\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...

SUMMARY:Mpls: Adam Weiner aka Low Cut Connie (solo) at Turf Club (Mar 7\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Low Cut Connie at Turf Club (Mar 7\, 2026)\n\n\nMarch 7\, 2026 Saturday\nLow Cut Connie\nat Turf Clubfirst-avenue.com\n\nPhiladelphia-based rock ‘n’ roll artist Low Cut Connie (Adam Weiner) is on tour to support his protest album Livin in the USA (available July 3rd on Contender Records). Weiner will be headlining the Turf Club\, in St Paul\, on March 7\, 2026.\n\n\nExcerpt from Weiner’s statement about this new album:\n\n\nI made this record because I am disgusted to see our country descend into an authoritarian hell\, a moral vacuum\, a place where art does not lead the cultural conversation. \nI made this album to say f**k you to this regime\, to the brutality and inhumanity of our political and tech leaders. They are a**holes with no class\, taste\, morality\, or art in their bodies. \nI made this record because I refuse to let these motherfuckers steal our art and steal our joy. \n\n \n\n Low Cut Connie \n\n\nWe last saw Low Cut Connie in Oct 2025 and said\, “There is not much else to add\, but based on my first experience\, I felt like I was watching the spirit of Bruce Springsteen and the soul of James Brown in Adam’s stage presence. I will cite as evidence that there was a guy in the crowd with a Springsteen concert tee and when we started to filter out of the venue after the two-hour set\, Brown’s “Living in America” ushered us out the doors. Even though the spirit and the soul of the band remain the same\, there have been changes. The lineup changed at the end of 2024 when three longtime members left the band: guitarists Abigail Dempsey and Will Donnelly and bassist Linwood Regensburg. Joining Adam on stage was Rich Stanley on guitar\, Nick Perri on bass\, Jarae Lewis on drums\, Kelsey Cork on guitar and tenor sax and the stellar Amanda “Rocky” Bullwinkel on vocals.”\n\nLow Cut Connie Tour Dates:\n\n3/3 – Chicago\, IL – City Winery *\n3/5 – Ann Arbor\, MI – The Ark *\n3/6 – Davenport\, IA – Raccoon Motel *\n3/7 – St. Paul\, MN – Turf Club *\n3/12 – St. Louis\, MO – City Winery *\n3/13 – Nashville\, TN – City Winery *\n3/20 – Pittsburgh\, PA – City Winery *\n3/21 – Elkton\, MD – Elkton Music Hall *\n3/27 – Northampton\, MA – Back Porch Music Festival\n4/3-7 – Little Steven’s Underground Garage Cruise\n4/10 – Plymouth\, MA – Spire Center for the Arts *\n4/11 – Portsmouth\, NH – The Press Room *\n4/12 – New York\, NY – City Winery *\n4/17 – Lancaster\, PA – West Art *\n4/18 – Atlantic City\, NJ – Anchor Rock Club *\n4/30 – Baltimore\, MD – Third Space @ Shaarei Tfiloh\n* – “Livin in the USA” solo tour dates\n\n\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...

She was born in London\, but spent most of her life living in different parts of the United States. Toggling between NYC and LA most of her musical career\, she made a bold choice to move to Red Cloud\, NE\, to restore an old farm house. The geographic location of the small town being in the twenty miles from the center of the contiguous United States provided inspiration for her latest album Run to the Center\, which she played from with songs like “How Do You Get By” and “Skylight.” “There’s so much room on the stage\,” Murr smiled. “I don’t know where to put myself.””\nTour Dates \n\n2/13 — Red Cloud Opera House — Red Cloud\, NE\n3/10 — 7th Street Entry — Minneapolis\, MN\n3/11 — Empty Bottle — Chicago\, IL\n3/13 — Pearl Street — Washington\, DC\n3/14 — Music Hall of Williamsburg — New York\, NY\n3/15 — Johnny Brenda’s — Philadelphia\, PA\n3/17 — Pinhook — Durham\, NC\n3/18 — The Earl — Atlanta\, GA\n3/19 — Third Man — Nashville\, TN\n3/21 — Deep Ellum Art Co — Dallas\, TX\n3/22 — 29th St Ballroom — Austin\, TX\n3/25 — Rebel Lounge — Phoenix\, AZ\n3/26 — Lodge Room — Los Angeles\, CA\n5/7 — Holocene — Portland\, OR\n5/8 — Churchill Baker — Baker City\, OR\n5/9 — Substation — Seattle\, WA\n5/10 — Wise Hall — Vancouver\, WA\n5/13 — Rickshaw — San Francisco\, CA\n5/14 — Starlet Room — Sacramento\, CA\n5/15 — Felton Music Hall — Felton\, CA\n\n\n\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...

DESCRIPTION:Jesse Welles at First Avenue (Mar 12-13\, 2026)\n\n\nMarch 12\, 2026 Thursday\nMarch 13\, 2026 Friday\nJesse Welles\nwith S.G. Goodmanat First Avenuefirst-avenue.com\n\nThe current face of protest singer is undoubtedly Jesse Welles. The prolific songwriter has been cranking out all sorts of songs to address the current climate. And he’s good! One listen to his Anti-ICE song\, “Join ICE”\, and you can hear the cleverness and commentary on their brutality.\n\n\nNo surprise\, but his entire tour is sold out. Welles is headlining First Avenue\, in Minneapolis\, on March 12 and March 13.\n\n\n S.G. Goodman \n\n\nS.G. Goodman to open. We saw Goodman in Oct 2021 and said\, “Turnout for the show was pretty terrific for a Friday\, with S.G. Goodman taking the stage around 8:30pm. This was her first time here\, and although she only played seven or eight songs\, mostly from her debut album Old Time Feeling\, she filled out the time nicely as she tends to ramble between songs. We learn that she’s “legally obligated” to say her name seven times\, as her manager thinks it’s good for name recognition. And as promised\, she would continue to say her name throughout the show\, including during the band introduction: Nick Harley on bass\, Matt Rowan on guitars\, and Stephen Montgomery on drums.”\n\nTour Dates:\n\nFeb 23\, 2026 Bijou Theatre Knoxville\, TN \nFeb 24\, 2026 Ryman Auditorium Nashville\, TN \nFeb 25\, 2026 The Eastern Atlanta\, GA \nFeb 27\, 2026 The Orange Peel Asheville\, NC \nFeb 28\, 2026 The Fillmore Charlotte Charlotte\, NC \nMar 1\, 2026 9:30 Club Washington\, D.C. \nMar 2\, 2026 9:30 Club Washington\, D.C. \nMar 4\, 2026 The Fillmore Philadelphia Philadelphia\, PA \nMar 6\, 2026 Citizens House of Blues Boston Boston\, MA \nMar 7\, 2026 The Capitol Theatre Port Chester\, NY \nMar 8\, 2026 Massey Hall Toronto\, ON\nMar 10\, 2026 The Majestic Theatre Detroit\, MI \nMar 11\, 2026 The Sylvee Madison\, WI \nMar 12\, 2026 First Avenue Minneapolis\, MN \nMar 13\, 2026 First Avenue Minneapolis\, MN \nMar 17\, 2026 Treefort Music Hall Boise\, ID \nMar 19\, 2026 Commodore Ballroom Vancouver\, BC \nMar 20\, 2026 McMenamins Crystal Ballroom Portland\, OR\nMar 21\, 2026 The UC Theatre Berkeley\, CA \nMar 22\, 2026 The Observatory North Park San Diego\, CA \nMar 24\, 2026 The Van Buren Phoenix\, AZ \nMar 26\, 2026 Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater Austin\, TX \nMar 27\, 2026 Longhorn Ballroom Dallas\, TX \nMar 28\, 2026 Ozark Music Hall Fayetteville\, AR \nApr 19\, 2026 High Water Festival North Charleston\, SC\n\n\n\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...

SUMMARY:Mpls: Northstar Original Revue at Midway Saloon (Mar 12\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Midway saloon 3/12. Now proudly sponsored by @utepilsbrewing \n\n@tmillsvfx \n@coffeevanillaband \n@rollnsoul \nQuarter Moon\n@peterivard \n@dylanwyldemusic \n@zolarosenfeldmusic\n\n\n\n\nIn August 2025\, we reviewed a group of local bands who were playing as part of a Northstar Original Revue event. Take a look at that review for a little more background\, but NOR are doing some great work to give both new and established local artists an opportunity to perform. On a grossly sleet-filled evening in Saint Paul\, it was a great chance to see a variety of acts in the warm confines of the Midway Saloon. \n\n\n\nUp first was The Flying T\, brainchild of Tony Mills\, a singer\, song writer and multi-instrumentalist. They came to stage as a duo (vocals/guitar\, stand up bass). Starting with Rabbit with Knives was a great beginning\, as it highlighted the dark humor and the solid folk rock sound of The Flying T (check Bandcamp for a collection of singles). Trains and Thunder had a dark guitar riff and let both musicians have fun with an extended musical section. On the Day that the Devil Came to Town had a good introductory joke (hint\, it was January 6th) and was a bouncy instrumental belying the song’s title. Closing with Horror Movie\, a pretty dystopian take\, The Flying T had started the evening off strong. The trio (they normally have a mandolin player) will be opening for The Roe Family Singers over at the 331 Club on April 13\, and is a great chance to catch this deviously fun band. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Flying T\n\n\n\nUp next was Taylor Robert\, coming to stage solo on acoustic guitar. Having released an album Brighter Day last year\, he was already playing some new songs planned for the next album. This was very Americana folk\, and the first song with its chorus of “when the prayers run out” connected well. This was a straightforward sound and Robert had a good vocal tone that worked with the musical vibe. After a quick tuning\, we got a slower ballad that let Robert croon. There was the most country sounding number and Robert finished up his set with a song called The Anthem\, his take on recent times up here. \n\n\n\n\n\nTaylor Robert\n\n\n\nCoffee Vanilla Band was a duo (vocals/keyboards and vocals/guitar) whose female lead singer had a bit of a Stevie Nicks sound. That keys & guitar combo also had a bit of a 70’s retro rock feel and this was definitely a change of pace from the earlier artists. A deep cut of a Judas Priest song Angel was next and had a switch of lead vocalist. Given that there were only the two musicians\, they made this feel big and that’s pretty impressive. Thanking NOR and Midway Saloon for the opportunity\, it was appropriate that the next number was titled Thank You\, a quieter number that let both musicians have their chance at lead vocals. \n\n\n\n\n\nCoffee Vanilla Bean\n\n\n\nZola (full name Zola Rosenfeld) was introduced as a storytelling singer and came to stage solo with guitar. Her first song\, Active Citizen\, is part of the compilation album Thaw\, an anti-ICE album with 30 local Twin Cities artists. Zola had a strong vocal tone that cut through the crowd noise. Unreliable Narrator was pretty brilliant indie rock and Zola had great stage presence and a really strong voice that got to ride free on the end of that song. After a quick sip of water\, Zola finished up her set about her OCD and deep research into disasters which was offset by “If this doesn’t resonate for you\, that’s probably a good thing”. The song itself was another very good number\, and I’d be willing to bet we will see a lot more of Zola going forward.  \n\n\n\n\n\nZola\n\n\n\nNext was Dylan Wilde\, playing solo on guitar with his country Americana style. Utah was a good opener and his strong baritone voice rang through the entirety of the Midway Saloon. A “this is more upbeat\, but not happier” led to Heartbreaker\, which was a very accurate description and actually got the crowd to clap along in the latter part of the number. Wilde had a very good sense of humor and rapport with the audience between songs before jumping back into those pretty bleak Americana songs. For the genre\, this was pretty peak\, and we’ll be looking for that upcoming LP for sure. A heartfelt intro to The Love I Loved the Most was a perfect close for Dylan Wilde’s heartfelt style. \n\n\n\n\n\nDylan Wilde\n\n\n\nThe Peter Rivard Duo (vocals/banjo/ukelele\, guitar/vocals/mandolin) continued the Americana theme and the pair started with letting the audience know they had been playing together for twenty years\, “so we’re going to start with an argument”. A dry sense of humor “I’m going to play a little guitar” as he switched to uke\, we got a song about being a grandfather\, and the duo had a comfortable control of things. There’s something to veteran musicians just doing their thing\, and these guys had it in spades. There was a banjo heavy instrumental number and it really fit the vibe of the evening. Heading in a different direction\, they closed on a bit of a St. Patrick’s Day theme with a nice instrumental and The Peter Rivard Duo finished their set with a real Irish sound. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe Peter Rivard Duo\n\n\n\nLast up was Quarter Moon and it was a complete change of pace\, both from age (13-18 year olds!) and genre. The punk rock trio (vocals/bass\, guitar/vocals\, and drums) were hot out of the gate\, and those lower tenor vocals had that slight punk whine\, which was perfect for the material. Quarter Moon was blowing the doors off in terms of tempo and volume and the crowd (including many of the Americana performers) were into it. That might be the calling card for NOR\, a community of musicians who love music\, and it’s a pleasure that such a thing exists. A quick tuning and bad joke\, and Quarter Moon were back into it\, with crashing drums leading into dual vocals from guitarists and bassist. A change of guitar gave us a reverb heavy intro and Quarter Moon was in full thrash mode. As they closed out the set and evening\, all of the bands had shown up strong and NOR continues to promote great local events. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nQuarter Moon\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...
