SUMMARY:Mpls: Cut Worms at Turf Club (May 8\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Cut Worms at Turf Club (May 8\, 2026)\n\nMay 8\, 2026 Friday\nCut Worms\nwith Tchotchke\nat Turf Club\nfirst-avenue.com\nCut Worms returns to Minnesota\, playing the Turf Club\, in St Paul on May 8\, 2026.\n\n Cut Worms \n\nWe caught Cut Worms in Oct 2023 and said\, “Turn out for the Cut Worms (aka Max Clarke) show was incredible\, for a sleepy Tuesday night! You wouldn’t know it until Cut Worms took the stage\, and his fans filled out the dance floor nicely. Clarke played a lot of tunes from his latest self-titled album\, which is actually his third album. His debut album\, called Hollow Ground was a big hit on Metacritic (thanks to Pitchfork leading the positive review). With the new self-titled album\, Clarke mentioned that he was inspired by The Beach Boys (Brian Wilson) four-and five-part harmonies\, so the record comes across feeling like it was written in the 60s. You can certainly pick up the influence when you hear them play “Ballad of the Texas King” live on stage\, with the jangle harmony.”\n\n Tchotchke \n\nTchotchke to open. We saw Tchotchke in April 2023 when they were first in the city: “Opening the show was New York’s Tchotchke (formerly Pinky Pinkyl from Los Angeles). The all-girls trio features singer and drummer Anastasia Sanchez\, bassist Eva Chambers\, and guitarist Emily Tooraen. This was their last week with King Tuff\, and they were sad to leave the tour. They recounted that they’ve been on the road with Tuff for what seemed like five weeks already…. Maybe it’s their first time in the Twin Cities\, but they were curious if Minnesotans ever “get cold?” Anastasia continues\, “I mean\, it’s cold here and you guys get snow.” They are referring to the fact that we were hit with a snow storm the previous night\, resulting in four or five inches of snow on the ground. While it’s uncommon to get snow in April\, Minnesotans shrug it off as Nature’s April Fools.”\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...

SUMMARY:Mpls: ADULT. at 7th St Entry (May 8\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:ADULT. at 7th St Entry (May 8\, 2026)\n\n\nMay 8\, 2026 Friday\nADULT.\nwith The Treasuryat 7th St Entryfirst-avenue.com\n\nDetroit’s synth-punk\, electroclash duo Adult. (Kuperus and Adam Lee Miller) is headlining the 7th St Entry\, in Minneapolis\, on May 8\, 2026\, in support of Kissing Luck Goodbye.\n\n\n Adult \n\n\nWe saw Adult. in May 2022 and said\, “Finally\, Adult. (Nicola Kuperus and Adam Lee Miller) closed the show out. Their fanbase are diehard fans\, many of them have seen the Detroit band numerous times. For this tour\, it would seem like they were using the Ring girl as inspiration on their concert poster. They seem to invoke fear and dread of a supernatural evil girl crawling on the floor\, set to a blood red background. The truth is\, seeing them on stage\, I thought it was closer to other horror genre\, like Hellraiser. It’s all good\, they still had a great electroclash/electropunk sound. Singer Nicola Kuperus is often seen with her arms open\, holding double mics (both have different sound effects). She seemed really happy to be on stage to her adoring fans.\n\nThe Treasury to open. \n\n ADULT. SUMMARY:Mpls: Claire Rosinkranz at Fine Line (May 9\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Claire Rosinkranz at Fine Line (May 28\, 2026)\n\nMay 9\, 2026 Saturday May 28\, 2026 Thursday\n Claire Rosinkranz\nat Fine Line\nfirst-avenue.com\nClaire Rosinkranz is returning to Minneapolis\, playing the Fine Line on May 9th May 28\, 2026.\n\nThis show was originally scheduled for May 9\, 2026. It has been rescheduled and will now take place on May 28\, 2026. All tickets purchased for the May 9\, 2026 performance will remain valid for the new date\, so please hang on to your original ticket for entrance.\n\n \n\nBALCONY TICKET BUYERS must be 21+\nID required\, no exceptions.\nThis show is All Ages for all other GA Floor buyers. \nThe ticket limit is strict. Any attempt to exceed the posted ticket limit per customer or household\, or to game the system in any way\, will result in cancellation of orders without notice. There is a transfer delay for all tickets prior to the show. \n\n \n\n Claire Rosinkranz \n\nWe saw Claire Rosinkranz in Feb 2023 and wrote\, “An all-age show sold out for the Claire Rosinkranz show at the Fine Line; a frozen line of concert goers waiting to get into the venue as a mother left the warm comfort of her parked SUV to offer her coat to her daughter who was hopping and jumping to fight off hypothermia. Some parents kept a little closer\, staking claim to the tables that ringed the second tier of the venue with easy access to the bar. It was a large crowd\, an animated crowd\, probably the most excitement I had seen for some time. The audience of mostly teenage girls even gave a roadie a round of applause\, which caught him off guard\, but then he leapt into the moment by taking a deep bow.”\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...

SUMMARY:Mpls: Mdou Moctar (solo) at Fine Line (May 9\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Mdou Moctar (solo) at Fine Line (May 9\, 2026)\n\n\nMay 9\, 2026 Saturday\nMdou Moctar (solo)\nat Fine Line\nfirst-avenue.com\n\nMdou Moctar is on a solo tour\, stopping by the Fine Line\, in Minneapolis\, on May 9\, 2026. \n\n\nThe ticket limit is strict. There is a transfer delay for all tickets prior to the show.\n\n\n\n\n Mdou Moctar \n\n\nWe saw Mdou Moctar in Oct 2024 and wrote\, “Mdou Moctar next took the stage with fellow band members of Ahmoudou Madassane on rhythm guitar\, Michael Coltun on bass and Souleymane Ibrahim on drums. Moctar is from Niger and his brand of music is Tuareg Rock aka Desert Blues\, a sound that we have seen before in musicians like Bombino\, the great Vieux Farka Touré and even Moctar at First Ave in Mar 2022. There is not much similarity with the blues coming out of the Mississippi Delta and the Saharan Desert. Moctar has been compared to Jimi Hendrix\, but his guitar sounds more feral. There is a beat that runs through his songs\, like the train rhythm created by Johnny Cash. But instead of a lonely engine plugging along in the middle of the night\, Moctar’s is a runaway train going at full speed across an endless desert with no horizon in sight.”\n\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...

SUMMARY:Jax: 10\,000 Maniacs at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall (May 9\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:10\,000 Maniacs – POSTPONED\nNew Date To Be Announced \nOne of the most influential bands to emerge from the alternative-rock scene\, 10\,000 Maniacs have spent over four decades captivating audiences with their poetic lyrics\, lush melodies\, and unforgettable live performances. Since forming in Jamestown\, NY in 1981\, the group has gone from indie trailblazers to platinum-selling pioneers\, selling more than 10 million records worldwide and helping to shape the sound of alternative rock. \nThe band broke through with 1987’s In My Tribe\, which stayed on the charts for 77 weeks and produced the classics “Like the Weather” and “What’s the Matter Here?”. They followed with platinum albums Blind Man’s Zoo and Our Time in Eden\, featuring fan favorites “Trouble Me\,” “Candy Everybody Wants\,” and “These Are Days.” Their MTV Unplugged performance\, including the hit “Because the Night\,” sold over four million copies and remains a landmark moment in ‘90s music. \nLed today by the powerful voice and viola of Mary Ramsey alongside founding members Jerome Augustyniak (drums)\, John Lombardo (guitar)\, Dennis Drew (keyboards)\, and Steven Gustafson (bass)\, the Maniacs continue to bring their rich songbook to life onstage with passion and authenticity. Guitarist Ben Medina rounds out the lineup\, adding fresh energy to their signature sound. \nIn 2026\, the band celebrates its 45th anniversary with an active touring schedule\, and the box set Candy Everybody Wants—highlighting the band’s groundbreaking Elektra years of the ’80s and ’90s. The band will cap off their anniversary year with the release of their first album of new material in 12 years\, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter of creative rebirth. \nFor fans old and new\, a 10\,000 Maniacs concert is more than nostalgia; it’s a living\, breathing celebration of music that has touched generations. From the anthems you know by heart to the new songs carrying their legacy forward\, this is a chance to experience one of America’s most enduring and inspiring bands live. \nhttps://www.pvconcerthall.com/events/detail/10000-maniacs \nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...

Based on antics and observation\, you can tell that these guys have grown up together or spent a lot of time together. According to their biography\, they most of them met from school and then when they were 14 years old and inspired to start a band after a Battle of the Bands competition. If you didn’t know the band’s name Red Rum Club\, came from Stephen King’s The Shining (popularized by the Stanley Kubrick film adaption).”\n\n\nJoan of Profile to open. We just recently saw them in April 2026.\n\n \nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...

DESCRIPTION:King Tuff at Turf Club (May 12\, 2026)\n\n\nMay 12\, 2026 Tuesday\nKing Tuff \nat Turf Clubfirst-avenue.com\n\nVermont’s King Tuff (Kyle Thomas) returns to the Turf Club on May 12\, 2026. His latest MOO is out now on his new label MUP Records via Thirty Tigers. \n\n King Tuff \n\n\nWe previously saw King Tuff in April 2023 and said\, “It’s the final stretch for Vermont’s King Tuff. After spending over a month on the road\, the band looks like seasoned road warriors (but still impeccably dressed – even in Wizard costume as Kyle would wear near the end of their set). King Tuff is basically Kyle Thomas\, who writes and record all the songs for King Tuff’s music. When not in Tuff\, he’s the singer/guitarist for Witch\, and also one of the all-star Ty Segall’s backing band The Muggers\, which we saw in Mar 2016\, and wrote\, “Before we talk about Ty’s exceptional musical output\, we have talk about his all-star supergroup The Muggers. As we previously mentioned\, his band consisted of King Tuff’s Kyle Thomas (dressed in an orange jumpsuit)\, singer/guitarist Mikal Cronin\, Cairo Gang’s Emmett Kelly\, and Wand’s Cory Hanson and Evan Burrows. With only a few dates on this current tour\, the band sounded incredibly tight and well-rehearsed (even when they were improvising on stage).””\n\nTour Dates\n\nApril 15 – Troy\, NY @ No Fun\nApril 16 – Brooklyn\, NY @ Music Hall of Williamsburg *\nApril 17 – Kingston\, NY @ Tubby’s *\nApril 18 – Philadelphia\, PA @ Kung Fu Necktie *\nApril 19 – Washington\, DC @ Songbyrd Music House *\nApril 21 – Raleigh\, NC @ Kings *\nApril 22 – Atlanta\, GA @ The EARL *\nApril 24 – New Orleans\, LA @ Gasa Gasa *\nApril 25 – Houston\, TX @ Moon Tower Inn *\nApril 26 – Austin\, TX @ 29th Street Ballroom *\nApril 29 – San Diego\, CA @ Casbah *\nApril 30 – Los Angeles\, CA @ Sid The Cat Auditorium *\nMay 1 – Ojai\, CA @ Ojai Women’s Center *\nMay 2 – San Francisco\, CA @ The Chapel #\nMay 4 – Seattle\, WA @ Barboza #\nMay 5 – Portland\, OR @ Mississippi Studios #\nMay 7 – Salt Lake City\, UT @ Urban Lounge #\nMay 9 – Denver\, CO @ Globe Hall #\nMay 11 – Sioux Falls\, SD @ Total Drag\nMay 12 – St. Paul\, MN @ Turf Club\nMay 13 – Chicago\, IL @ Lincoln Hall ^\nMay 15 – Grand Rapids\, MI @ Pyramid Scheme ^\nMay 16 – Toronto ON @ Sound Garage ^\nMay 17 – Montreal\, QC @ Bar Le Ritz PDB ^\nMay 19 – Burlington\, VT @ Higher Ground ^\nMay 20 – Portland\, ME @ SPACE ^\nMay 21 – Hamden\, CT – Space Ballroom ^\nMay 22- Boston\, MA @ Middle East Upstairs ^\nMay 23 – Brattleboro\, VT @ Stone Church ^\nWith support from * Morgan Nagler# Gabriel Bernini^ Mod Lang\n\n\n\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...

SUMMARY:Mpls: Brown Horse at 7th St Entry (May 13\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Brown Horse at 7th St Entry (May 13\, 2026)\n\n\nMay 13\, 2026 Wednesday\nBrown Horse\nwith Kiernanat 7th St Entry\nfirst-avenue.com\n\nNorwich’s Brown Horse is headlining the 7th Street Entry\, in Minneapolis\, on May 13\, 2026\, in support of Total Dive.\n\n\n Kiernan at 370 Sets\, St Paul (July 15\, 2025) \n\n\nKiernan to open. We saw Kiernan in July 2025 and wrote\, “Normally a quartet\, this performance was a solo show from vocalist and guitarist Laura Kiernan. That made for a stripped-down sound\, but an effective one for the setting. With three different guitars\, Kiernan started off acoustic for the first several numbers. Kiernan’s plaintive vocals created an intimate setting for the early evening crowd. Kiernan let us know that the first two songs were currently unreleased. A bit of banter had Kiernan talking about songwriters who have inspired her and led to a cover of an Adrianne Lenker song\, anything. Getting into some of the music the band has released\, I was struck at how well they lent themselves to a solo interpretation. She also had a great sense of humor\, cutting off an early applause with a quick “there’s a bridge in this song”. Switching over to a different and deeper sounding acoustic guitar\, Kiernan mentioned that she was hoping we were staying cool\, because “I’m sure not; it’s hot out here!”. After a needed tuning\, she launched back into the music. Admitting she was picking songs by feel\, Kiernan nevertheless pulled a coherent sound and flow. A bit of background to how her grandparents were the inspiration for the next song\, Otisville\, she had the loudest and most emotional vocals of the set so far. After a very short song\, Kiernan switched to her trademark red electric guitar. That change was a nice shake up in sound for a song off Always\, I Love You. A more country sound from a song off the EP\, Magnetic North followed\, ended the first set.” \n\nTour Dates\n\nApr. 12\, 2026 Oxford\, The Jericho Tavern\nApr. 15\, 2026 Cardiff\, Clwb Ifor Bach\nApr. 16\, 2026 Luton\, The Bear Club\nApr. 17\, 2026 Brighton\, The Hope & Ruin\nApr. 18\, 2026 Ipswich\, The Church\nMay 2\, 2026 Los Angeles\, CA Permanent Records Roadhouse\nMay 3\, 2026 Ojai\, CA Ojai Deer Lodge\nMay 5\, 2026 San Francisco\, CA Make-Out Room\nMay 7\, 2026 Seattle\, WA Baba Yaga\nMay 8\, 2026 Trout Lake\, WA Trout Lake Hall\nMay 9\, 2026 Portland\, OR Polaris Hall\nMay 10\, 2026 Vancouver\, BC The Pearl\nMay 13\, 2026 Minneapolis\, MN 7th St Entry\nMay 14\, 2026 Chicago\, IL Hideout\nMay 15\, 2026 Detroit\, MI Lager House\nMay 16\, 2026 Toronto\, ON Monarch Tavern\nMay 19\, 2026 Allston\, MA O’Briens Pub\nMay 20\, 2026 New York\, NY Night Club 101\nJun. 30\, 2026 Barcelona\, Spain Sala Upload\nJul. 1\, 2026 Valencia\, Spain Loco Club\nOct. 20\, 2026 Cambridge\, Portland Arms\nOct. 21\, 2026 Nottingham\, Bodega\nOct. 22\, 2026 London\, Moth Club\nOct. 23\, 2026 Norwich\, Norwich Arts Centre\nOct. 24\, 2026 Coventry\, The Tin Music and Arts\nOct. 27\, 2026 Manchester\, The Deaf Institute\nOct. 28\, 2026 Leeds\, Brudenell Social Club\nOct. 29\, 2026 Glasgow\, Mono\n\n\n\n\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...

SUMMARY:Jax: Badfish at Colonial Oak Music Park (May 13\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:BADFISH\, LONGTIME SUBLIME TRIBUTE BAND\, COMES TO A VENUE NEAR YOU WITH GROUNDBREAKING ORIGINAL MUSIC IN TOW\nBy Mario Tarradell \nBadfish is a vibe. Badfish is a sonic house party complete with plenty of gyrating fans sipping libations and enjoying various extracurricular activities. Badfish is feel-good music. \nFor 22 years\, the Rhode Island-based band – Joel Hanks on bass\, Scott Begin on drums\, Pat Downes on vocals and guitar\, Danny Torgersen on horns\, keyboards\, and guitars – have successfully paid tribute to Sublime\, the short-lived but influential California group that brought ska-punk and reggae-rock to the mainstream. Badfish’s heartfelt celebration of Sublime’s musical spirit and legacy is so sought-after that they’ve headlined theaters\, sold out shows\, and played 15-20 gigs a month. \nBut now\, Badfish is more. After two decades of Sublime reverence\, Badfish originality has stomped into high gear. Badfish has released four singles so far\, their newest being “Bad Things” (featuring DJ Hoppa)\, which is the follow up to “F You Pay Me” (featuring Grieves)\, which was released in June. \nBringing a hard blend of rap\, reggae\, and splash of soul\, “Bad Things” both starts the party and crashes it simultaneously with a classic Sublime-inspired grit\, emphasized by hip-hop heavyweight DJ Hoppa’s turntables. Lyrically rooted in status quo dissatisfaction\, “Bad Things” takes a reassessment of life and “how bad is bad really”… Nothing’s ever quite what you expect and the same goes for this roller-coaster reggae tune\, opening with dubiously psycho samples scratched-up by the legendary Hoppa. Frontman Pat Downes & producer Matt Keller together have again made a radio-ready pop hit\, but this time with a black ski-mask on it. \nOnstage\, you get Badfish playing the best of Sublime as well as the best of Badfish. Catch them in concert May 13 at Colonial Oak Music Park in St. Augustine\, FL. Tickets are $42.11; all ages are welcome. For more information\, please click HERE. \n“Putting out original music alongside being a tribute band has always been a point of interest to us\,” says Begin. “It’s been a tricky path to walk\, though. Yet as the years have gone by and we’ve gotten to witness our little show turn into somewhat of a movement within the scene\, we are at the point where we feel we have something of real heart and value to add not only to our show but to the American reggae scene.” \nThat means you’ll hear Sublime staples “What I Got\,” “Santeria\,” and “Wrong Way” woven with Badfish’s own beat-heavy song\, “F You Pay Me\,” which blends rock\, reggae\, and hip-hop along with lyrics about re-prioritizing self-preservation as the follow up to the band’s first single “High With You” (featuring Little Stranger). The crowd’s enthusiastic response to these new songs makes them feel right at home alongside Sublime staples in the Badfish set. \nThere’s no resisting these tunes; you’re going to move. \n“With the kinetic energy that the band has amassed over years of performing\, the ideas just keep flowing out of the blue and we are lucky enough to capture them\,” says Begin. “Perspective is a great tool in music composition\, and we’ve got plenty of that by now. When it feels right\, it feels right…and these songs sure feel right.” \nHarnessing this new creative energy\, Badfish is stoked to gear up for their 2026 Blizzy Tour\, with special guests Beach Fly. The tour will take the boys around the country where they’ll surely keep the vibes high for some familiar faces and many new ones as well. \nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...

SUMMARY:Mpls: The Paper Kites at First Avenue (May 15\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:The Paper Kites at First Avenue (May 15\, 2026)\n\n\nMay 15\, 2026 Friday\nThe Paper Kites\nwith Donovan Woodsat First Avenuefirst-avenue.com\n\nThe Paper Kites returns to Minneapolis\, playing First Avenue\, on May 15\, 2026.\n\n\n The Paper Kites \n\n\nWe saw Paper Kites in July 2016 and said\, “The Paper Kites (Sam Bentley\, Christina Lacy\, Dave Powys\, Sam Rasmussen\, and Josh Bentley) said they love\, love playing Minneapolis. Their fanbase here is incredible\, and they just love the audience (which were mostly young college-bound or college students). There is something hopelessly romantic about the Paper Kites’ songs that speaks to their fans. In fact\, singer Sam Bentley said that they filmed two music videos in Minneapolis\, which would make them “practically Minnesotans”. They had enough songs to make for a full set from their two albums States and twelvefour\, and that meant no cover songs. They took out the banjo to play two songs\, starting with ‘Bloom’\, followed by ‘St Clarity’\, both songs were incredibly well-received. Prior to playing ‘A Silent Cause’\, Bentley told this story about how he got really sick at the Winnipeg Folk Festival (which just took place July 7-10\, 2016)\, and during their 40-min to their hotel\, he threw up in his backpack!”\n\n\nDonovan Woods to open.\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading...
