The new dates include a performace at this summer’s Newport Jazz Festival and several shows in October supporting Black Violin. Tickets are on sale now and all dates can be found at: http://www.braxtoncook.com. \nNot Everyone Can Go is a visionary statement on conflict\, resolution\, and renewed love. It was conceived in a moment of transition and reflects the tensions after a year of balancing a busy touring schedule with family life. The album’s arc stretches from uncertainty to gratitude\, as Braxton doubles down on his family\, letting go of what no longer serves him. The album has drawn high praise from NPR to Essence\, Downbeat to Jazziz\, Vibe and countless others. \nAs his most collaborative effort yet\, Braxton draws from all parts of Black American music\, expanding the definition of what jazz can be. Notable features include Elijah Fox\, Nate Smith\, Joshua Crumbly\, Marie Dahlstrom\, NAVVY\, and more. Standout singles like “Zodiac\,” “My Everything\,” and “We’ve Come So Far” debuted on his NPR Tiny Desk Concert performance earlier this year. As NPR producer Ashley Pointer stated\, Braxton Cook is ready to take “center stage” with his most dynamic release to date. \nOne can hear Cook breaking through on Not Everyone Can Go\, a mix of jazz and R&B that feels indebted to similar hybrids of yesteryear. Musically\, the album conjures images of bright evening sunshine\, when the temperature begins to cool. Not quite Quiet Storm\, instead\, Not Everyone Can Go dabbles between the margins\, which won’t surprise those who’ve followed Cook to this point. Across albums like Somewhere In Between\, No Doubt\, and Who Are You When No One Is Watching?\, he’s made a career of blurring the lines between genres\, landing on a sound that isn’t one thing\, in particular. While that’s made his music tough to pin down\, that also makes it all the more intriguing. That you can’t label it just R&B or just jazz lends to the music’s attraction. \nLyrically\, Not Everyone Can Go follows the trek of conflict\, from where a romantic relationship faces challenges to when the couple makes it to the other side. The album soundtracks that journey without placing blame on one person or the other. Instead\, Cook assesses his own role in the disconnect\, as if doing the necessary self-work to show up fully for his significant other. The album’s second half incorporates love songs about the rediscovery of affection\, taking sonic cues from late-‘90s R&B\, with its slow\, body-rolling pace and lush electric keys. “The last part of the album is the action for me\,” Cook said. “It’s the act of rebuilding these relationships the way that I want and the way that I see them\, and that’s what those love songs are about. ‘Bad’ is very much about taking my wife back out on a date. As if we were just courting each other all over again.” \nUltimately\, Not Everyone Can Go is about embracing change\, that when seasons arrive where moves are inevitable\, you have to lean into them. “This particular record is a reminder to myself and others to take stock in what it is you have and be grateful for the breath in your lungs.” \nBRAXTON COOK 2026 TOUR DATES\n7/30/26 Portsmouth\, NH Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club\n7/31/26 Newport\, RI Newport Jazz Festival\n8/10/26 Appleton\, WI Jazz Coterie – Gibson Music Hall\n8/11/26 Stevens Point\, WI Jazz Coterie – Stevens Point Country Club\n8/12/26 Minneapolis\, MN Dakota\n8/13/26 Omaha\, NE Midtown Crossing – Jazz on the Green\n8/14/26 Evanston\, IL Space\n8/16/26 Ann Arbor\, MI Blue Llama Jazz Club\n8/16/26 Ann Arbor\, MI Blue Llama Jazz Club\n9/17/26 Honolulu\, HI Blue Note Hawaii\n9/17/26 Honolulu\, HI Blue Note Hawaii\n10/1/26 Providence\, RI Uptown Theater*\n10/2/26 Washington D.C. SUMMARY:Mpls: HUG at McGuire Theater at Walker Art Center (Oct 14\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:HUG at McGuire Theater at Walker Art Center (Oct 14\, 2026)\n \n\nOctober 12\, 2026 Monday\n HUG\nat McGuire Theater at Walker Art Centerwalkerart.org\n\nHUG is the new supergroup between three friends: indie folk innovator Devendra Banhart\, multifaceted guitarist Gyan Riley (he plays in Paul Simon’s band)\, and musician/record producer Noah Georgeson (he produced Cate Le Bon’s album) . The group will be playing their self-titled debut album live at the McGuire Theater (inside the Walker Art Center). The show is copresented with Liquid Music (one of our favorite music/art series).\n\n\n \n\n\nWe saw Banhart in May 2016 and wrote\, “The Saturday night would also have a similar setup\, Devendra Banhart\, this time with a full electric band\, would open up the show. As described by Banhart\, there were no established setlist for his band and some sets were entirely improvised and some old songs are completely redone in a different direction. Whatever they decided to play\, it was clear that Banhart was absolutely giggly about the whole thing. You can hear it in his voice and his mannerism\, he was extremely excited to perform these songs for us.”\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading…

SUMMARY:Mpls: Castle Rat at Varsity Theater (Oct 14\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Castle Rat at Varsity Theater (Oct 14\, 2026)\n\n\nOctober 11\, 2026 Sunday\n Castle Rat\nwith Unto Others\, Wraith Knightat Varsity Theater\nlivenation.com\n\nOne of the hottest bands touring this realm is Castle Rat. They are stopping by the Varsity Theater\, in Minneapolis\, on October 14\, 2026.\n\n\n Castle Rat at the Ship\, Kansas City (September 12\, 2025) \n\n\nWe drove to the Ship\, Kansas City\, on September 12\, 2025 to witness fantasy doom metal: “Headlining was Castle Rat\, delivering a powerful blend of Doom Metal\, fantasy storytelling\, and… sword fighting! Did I mention they’re theatrical? On lead vocals and rhythm guitar is the Rat Queen and all-around renaissance woman herself\, Riley Pinkerton\, backed by a band of fantasy characters: The Count (Franco Vittore\, lead guitar/backing vocals)\, The Plague Doctor (Charley Ruddel\, bass)\, The Druid (Josh Strmic\, drums)\, and the Rat Reapress—not a musician\, but a performer and antagonist to our heroic musicians (Rebecca Corrigan). Nostalgic clean vocals\, Sabbath worthy bass lines\, all the riffs you could want\, gripping guitar solos\, and a maniac of a drummer that I still won’t stop talking about… that’s a recipe for success on its own. Now add in a story line woven through the albums and into the stage show and a call to action for the crowd to assist the band in saving The Realm… the crowd went insane for this band. Castle Rat is out supporting their new album The Bestiary\, a much-anticipated follow-up to their debut Into the Realm (2024). They’re causing quite a stir\, and I highly recommend seeing them in smaller venues while you still can. This show confirmed that it may have been our last chance before they’re playing much larger rooms. If you’re lucky enough to be near a show that hasn’t sold out\, grab a ticket now… and order that new album as well.”\n\nUnto Others and Wraith Knight to open.\n\n\nTour Dates\n\n\n Sep 23 – Baltimore\, MD – Baltimore Soundstage Sep 25 – Charlotte\, NC – Neighborhood Theatre Sep 26 – Atlanta\, GA – The Masquerade Sep 28 – Dallas\, TX – The Studio at The Bomb Factory Sep 30 – Mesa\, AZ – The Nile Theater Oct 1 – Los Angeles\, CA – The Belasco Oct 3 – Berkeley\, CA – The UC Theatre Oct 6 – Portland\, OR – Roseland Theater Oct 7 – Seattle\, WA – The Showbox Market Oct 9 – Spokane\, WA – Knitting Factory Oct 10 – Boise\, ID – Shrine Social Club Oct 11 – Salt Lake City\, UT – The Grand Oct 12 – Denver\, CO – The Ogden Theatre Oct 14 – Minneapolis\, MN – Varsity Theater Oct 15 – Chicago\, IL – Concord Music Hall Oct 16 – Detroit\, MI – The Majestic Theatre Oct 17 – Toronto\, ON – The Opera House Oct 19 – Montreal\, QC – Théâtre Beanfield Oct 20 – Worcester\, MA – The Palladium Oct 21 – New York\, NY – Webster Hall\n\n \nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading…

SUMMARY:Jax: Toadies at FIVE (Oct 14\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Toadies at FIVE (Oct 14\, 2026)\n\nOctober 14\, 2026 Wednesday\nToadies\nat FIVE\nfivejax.com\n\nToadies is on the last leg of their tour – stopping by FIVE\, in Jacksonville\, Florida\, on October 14\, 2026. The band recently announced the first ever vinyl release of their 2001 album Hell Below/Stars Above. As a recent phonograph convert\, I’m happy to see more music being released on this century-old technology.\n\n\n Toadies at First Avenue 2026-06-02 \n\n\nWe saw Toadies in June 2026 and wrote\, “Toadies took the stage over with the instrumental “Ash’s Theme” (from the new record)\, but Toadies leader Vaden Todd Lewis promised “lots of songs you can sing along to for the rest of the night” — starting with Rubberneck‘s “I Come from the Water”. And while 1994’s alt-rock classics ran shoulder-to-shoulder with new stuff (2026’s Charmer) and fan-service deep cuts (a song from that abandoned 2000 album Feeler\, plus three from the actual 2001 followup Hell Below/Stars Above)\, the eras blurred together\, as they frequently do. Lewis is 60 now\, and the deranged edge he lent to “Possum Kingdom”‘s haunting refrain (“do you want to die?”) is a little lower and more craggy\, but Toadies’ vision of hard-rock-with-dark-themes shines through. We got 10 songs from the new album\, and they sound just as urgent and compelling live as they do on the record. (That’s no coincidence: it was one of the last projects that audio vérité legend Steve Albini recorded before his 2024 death.) The new stuff is plenty weird — there are just as many crooked corners and 7/8 surprises\, but the sophisticated progressions and maturity of the songwriting hide tricks. And there’s old fashioned amplification: “Get Out of Your Head” hit 109 decibels where I was standing\, and caused my hearing protection to glitch on me. “Normal” got a short but earnest introduction\, framing the new album as Lewis’s statement about depression\, self-harm\, and suicide\, urging people to get help. He also assured folks to be less afraid of what treatment and recovery really look like: “I’m here today because I got help\, and I’m still weird as fuck. It’s just that the ‘fuck you’ voice in my head got a little quieter.” They left the stage after “Tyler”\, but you know what it means when\, as the band leaves\, the lights dim\, and the roadies come on stage\, crack open fresh beers\, leaving them by newly tuned guitars. There would be more. ”\n\n\nLocal H and Emily Wolfe to open.\n\nTour Dates\n\nSept 18 Columbia\, MO – The Blue Note =\nSept 19 Indianapolis\, IN – Hi-Fi Annex ^=\nSept 20 Louisville\, KY – Louder Than Life\nSept 21 St. Louis\, MO – The Pageant ^=\nSept 23 Kansas City\, MO – The Truman ^=\nSept 24 Tulsa\, OK – Cain’s Ballroom ^=\nSept 25 Amarillo\, TX – The Lumberyard^=\nSept 26 Santa Fe\, NM – The Bridge^=\nSept 29 Flagstaff\, AZ – Orpheum Theater^=Oct 02 Las Vegas\, NV – Brooklyn Bowl^=\nOct 03 Ventura\, CA – Ventura Theatre^=\nOct 04 Sacramento\, CA – Aftershock\nOct 05 – Menlo Park\, CA – The Guild Theater\nOct 06 Pioneertown\, CA – Pappy & Harriet’s^\nOct 08 Tucson\, AZ – Rialto Theatre^#\nOct 09 El Paso\, TX – Lowbrow Palace^#\nOct 10 – Dallas\, TX – State Fair Of Texas\nOct 14 Jacksonville\, FL – Five^#\nOct 15 Fort Lauderdale\, FL – Revolution Live^#\nOct 16 Orlando\, FL – House of Blues^#\nOct 17 St. Petersburg\, FL – Jannus Live^# \nWith ^ Local H\n=Olive Vox\n#Emily Wolfe\n\n \nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading…

DESCRIPTION:Friko at Fine Line (Oct 15\, 2026)\n \n\nOctober 15\, 2026 Thursday\n Friko\nat Fine Line\nfirst-avenue.com\n\nChicago based band Friko returns to Minnesota\, playing the Fine Line (and upgraded venue from 7th Street Entry)\, on October 15\, 2026.\n\n\n$1 from every ticket sold will go to Santa for a Day\, a certified 501 (c) (3) Public Charity who answers letters to Santa from kids in underserved communities. This two-pronged literacy component is vital to their mission: Volunteers helping\, teaching youngsters the power of the pen… and then donors rewarding their efforts\, by translating their wishes into reality\, This process helps children feel seen\, heard\, and valued—often for the first time—while fostering family dignity and empowerment that extends well beyond the holidays as participants author a different\, more positive narrative about life\, one sparked by optimism and the vision of a brighter future. Founded in 2018\, SFAD has fulfilled more than 50\,000 letters and delivered nearly 100\,000 gifts to children across eight U.S. cities.\n\n \n\n Friko at Fine Line (May 22\, 2025) \n\n\nWe saw Friko in May 2025 and wrote\, “After an intermission that played great music like “Get Innocuous!” by LCD Soundsystem and “Barley” from Water From Your Eyes\, Friko took the stage to The Talking Heads “Once in a Lifetime.” From there was a spine-tingling beginning in which lead singer\, Niko Kapetan\, tried to fit the whole evening into “Guess”. From there\, the band dialed it up even more to where it looked like they were almost assaulting their instruments during “Chemical”. We last saw Friko opening up for Royel Otis at First Ave in Sep\, 2024. We mentioned that they are known for their high-energy live shows\, and I was getting a front row view\, but there were moments when they took a step back and played the sweetest of songs like “For Ella” and “Cardinal”. In a Paste profile on their debut album Where We’ve Been\, Where We Go from Here\, the band noted not only being inspired by the Chicago indie rock scene\, but also influenced by the classical romantic era\, specifically the music of Frederic Chopin. As drummer Bailey Minzenberger stated: “With Chopin’s Nocturnes specifically\, I can’t wrap my head around how something can be so beautiful. There are some bits of it that are so complicated but still really accessible.””\nTour Dates\n\n Sep. 16 – Salt Lake City\, UT @ Kilby CourtSep. 18 – Phoenix\, AZ @ Valley BarSep. 19 – San Diego\, CA @ CasbahSep. 20 – Los Angeles\, CA @ Sid The Cat AuditoriumSep. 21 – San Francisco\, CA @ Rickshaw StopSep. 24 – Portland\, OR @ Polaris HallSep. 25 – Seattle\, WA @ Baba YagaSep. 26 – Vancouver\, BC @ Fox CabaretSep. 30 – Morrison\, CA @ Red RocksOct. 15 – Minneapolis\, MN @ Fine Line (venue upgrade)Oct. 16 – Milwaukee\, WI @ VivariumOct. 17 – Detroit\, MI @ The Loving TouchOct. 19 – Toronto\, ON @ The Great HallOct. 20 – Montreal\, QC @ Bar Le RitzOct. 22 – Boston\, MA @ The SinclairOct. 23 – New York\, NY @ Music Hall Of WilliamsburgOct. 24 – Philadelphia\, PA @ The FoundryOct. 26 – Washington\, DC @ AtlantisOct. 27 – Durham\, NC @ Motorco Music HallOct. 28 – Atlanta\, GA @ Terminal WestOct. 30 – Nashville\, TN @ The Blue RoomOct. 31 – Columbus\, OH @ A&R Music Bar Nov. 20 – Mexico City\, MX @ Corona Capital FestivalDec. 19 – Chicago\, IL @ Salt Shed (w/ Ratboys)\n\n \nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading…

The group is touring in support of their eleventh studio album\, Little Rope (Loma Vista). The band hardly spoke\, except singer/bassist Carrie Brownstein mention that the Chicago audience was “the best audience so far.” I am assuming by best\, they meant turn out and very interactive. I’m sure it could also mean well behaved. Each stop on the tour\, SK had a different concert poster for the show. Unfortunately\, the Chicago posters did not arrive to the venue on time\, so fans were offered a signed poster if they ordered that poster on their website\, as a concession.”\n\n\nTuffie and Scrunchies to open.\n\n\nTour Dates:\n\n\n 10/16: Minneapolis\, MN @ Fine Line 10/17: San Francisco\, CA @ Bottom Of The Hill 10/18: San Francisco\, CA @ Bottom Of The Hill10/24: Olympia\, WA @ Capitol Theater *Girl Night Part 2* 10/28: Portland\, OR @ Revolution Hall 10/30: Washington\, DC @ Black Cat* 10/31: New York\, NY @ Bowery Ballroom* 11/1: Philadelphia\, PA @ First Unitarian Church* 11/5: Seattle\, WA @ Nuemos11/8: Pasadena\, CA @ Sid the Cat Auditorium11/14: Chicago\, IL @ The Empty Bottle11/15: Chicago\, IL @ The Empty Bottle11/21: Athens\, GA @ 40 Watt 11/22: Durham\, NC @ Motorco Music Hall \n* with Calamity Jane\n \n\n\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading…

Learn more about Verizon Access here. \n“Staging a Mellon Collie-themed show is something we’ve discussed for over a decade\, and finally the stars have aligned and exactly on the terms I’d set: which was to build a special night around its most enduring aspirations and ideas\,” Billy Corgan said. “With set 1 of the Rats In A Cage tour exclusively featuring Mellon Collie songs in a highly theatrical setting\, and set 2 drawing from the rest of our canon so that there’s a decent amount of variance as to what songs we’ll play from night to night: from our first in ‘Gish’ to our last in ‘Aghori Mhori Mei’.” \nLast night\, after dropping hints for several days\, the band hosted a Requiem For ZERO at the Hollywood Legion Theater in Los Angeles. The intimate hall allowed 300 guests to witness the funeral for ZERO\, the avatar Billy Corgan first inhabited 30 years ago on Mellon Collie. \nBefore the tour kicks off\, The Smashing Pumpkins will headline their hometown’s famed Lollapalooza on July 31st for the first time in over 30 years\, marking their long-awaited return to the festival since its touring iteration in 1994. Then\, in September\, the Rats In A Cage tour opens in Columbus. OH\, before visiting multiple major markets throughout America and Canada. With the Pumpkins’ shows forever known for delivering raw performances on an epic emotional scale\, theRats In A Cage tour and its journey through the decades promises to showcase the kaleidoscopic range the band has wielded from Gish all the way to their most recent album release\, Aghori Mhori Mei. \nThe Rats In A Cage Tour follows a multi-faceted 2025 anniversary blowout for Mellon Collie\, including a deluxe vinyl reissue featuring previously unheard live recordings from the world tour supporting the album\, a special reimagining of Mellon Collie’s iconic hits and beloved fan-favorites onstage with the Lyric Opera Of Chicago\, and culinary collaborations with Vosges Haut-Chocolat and Erewhon. Released the same year as Machina/The Machines Of God’s 25th anniversary reissue\, the Mellon Collie celebration continued what has been a furiously productive decade for The Smashing Pumpkins\, with a flood of inspiration producing 2020’s Cyr\, 2022/2023’s triple-album Atum: A Rock Opera In Three Parts\, and 2024’s Aghori Mhori Mei. \nAlongside all of his Pumpkins activity\, the ever-prolific Corgan has remained busy in other ventures as well. Entering its second year\, his widely praised podcast The Magnificent Others has recently featured candid conversations about creativity and legacy with Courtney Love\, Billy Idol\, Nancy Wilson\, and Yungblud. Corgan also made his Coachella debut\, joining Sombr onstage for a surprise performance. Most recently\, in his capacity as president of the National Wrestling Alliance\, Corgan led the hallowed athletic institution to a landmark deal with Comet TV\, bringing NWA back to free broadcast TV nationwide for the first time since the early ‘90s. The new chapter of NWA dawned on May 1st\, marking the latest moment in a standout year for Corgan and the Pumpkins. \nFULL TOUR ROUTING \nWed\, Sep 30 — Columbus\, OH — Schottenstein Center \nFri\, Oct 2 — Boston\, MA — TD Garden \nSat\, Oct 3 — Baltimore\, MD — CFG Bank Arena \nSun\, Oct 4 — Brooklyn\, NY — Barclays Center \nTue\, Oct 6 — Pittsburgh\, PA — PPG Paints Arena \nWed\, Oct 7 — Hamilton\, ON — TD Coliseum \nFri\, Oct 9 — Montreal\, QC — Bell Centre \nSun\, Oct 11 — Madison\, WI — Kohl Center \nTue\, Oct 13 — St. Paul\, MN — Grand Casino Arena \nWed\, Oct 14 — Chicago\, IL — United Center \nFri\, Oct 16 — Charlotte\, NC — Spectrum Center \nSat\, Oct 17 — Jacksonville\, FL — VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena \nSun\, Oct 18 — Tampa\, FL — Benchmark International Arena \nTue\, Oct 20 — Indianapolis\, IN — Gainbridge Fieldhouse \nWed\, Oct 22 — Nashville\, TN — The Truth \nSat\, Oct 24 — Oklahoma City\, OK — Paycom Center \nSun\, Oct 25 — Austin\, TX — Moody Center \nTue\, Oct 27 — Denver\, CO — Ball Arena \nThu\, Oct 29 — Salt Lake City\, UT — Delta Center \nFri\, Oct 30 — Las Vegas\, NV — MGM Grand Garden Arena \nSun\, Nov 1 — Portland\, OR — Moda Center \nTue\, Nov 3 — Calgary\, AB — Scotiabank Saddledome \nThu\, Nov 5 — Vancouver\, BC — Rogers Arena \nFri\, Nov 6 — Seattle\, WA — Climate Pledge Arena \nSun\, Nov 8 — San Jose\, CA — SAP Center \nWed\, Nov 11 — Phoenix\, AZ — Mortgage Matchup Center \nThu\, Nov 12 — Los Angeles\, CA — Kia Forum \nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading…

SUMMARY:Jax: Tropidelic at Tropic Invasion (October 17\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:🎃 MARK YOUR CALENDARS: TROPIC INVASION 2026 IS HERE 🎃\nDab Day Productions returns to Jacksonville for the 5th Annual Halloween Dab Day Festival! 👻\nOut-of-this-world live performances\, art\, glassblowing\, 50+ curated vendors\, killer eats\, craft drinks\, and a full brewery on-site. The full production hometown show promises to be a special night for the band and the fans who have been there since Tropidelic’s earliest days\, when the group was building its following one backyard party at a time. Surfer Girl and The Quasi Kings will open all dates. \nReleased June 26\, First Light marked another evolution for Tropidelic\, expanding the band’s signature blend of reggae\, rock\, hip-hop\, and punk while preserving the infectious energy and positivity that have made them one of the most dedicated fanbases in the scene. The album features collaborations with The Movement\, Collie Buddz\, Eli-Mac\, Fortunate Youth\, Little Stranger\, and The Quasi Kings\, showcasing the band’s most expansive songwriting and production to date.\nWATCH “NO FEAR” HERE \nFor more than 15 years\, Tropidelic has built its career the old-fashioned way: on the road\, in front of fans\, and through a fiercely independent grassroots approach. What started with backyard parties in Cleveland has grown into the band’s own destination event\, Everwild Music Festival\, while their reputation as one of the genre’s most dynamic live acts has taken them to major festivals including Okeechobee\, BeachLife\, and Tortuga\, as well as tours with Dirty Heads\, Lupe Fiasco\, and 311 and multiple appearances at Colorado’s legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre. \nTropidelic have also announced the dates for 2027’s Everwild Music Festival which will take place from August 5-7 at Legend Valley in Thornville\, Ohio. The festival\, which kicked off in 2021 sold out for the first time this year and dates for the 2027 weekend will go on sale in the coming weeks. \nThe band’s connection to their city and state runs deep. Tropidelic has thrown out the ceremonial first pitch at a Cleveland Guardians game before performing live for a packed stadium\, adopted a stretch of Cleveland-area highway with a goal of keeping it so clean “you could eat off our stretch\,” according to vocalist Roads\, and regularly volunteers at a local men’s shelter while encouraging fans to join them in giving back. The November 21 show at The Agora brings that journey full circle\, giving the band a chance to celebrate First Light on the same ground where their Cleveland roots helped shape the band they are today. \n* * * TROPIDELIC 2026 TOUR * * * \nOctober 10 Las Vegas\, NV Vegas Vibez\nOctober 17 Jacksonville\, FL Tropic Invasion\nNovember 11 Hampton\, NH Wally’s *\nNovember 12 South Burlington\, VT Higher Ground *\nNovember 13 Syracuse\, NY Middle Ages Brewing *\nNovember 14 Harrisburg\, PA XL Live *\nNovember 15 Millvale\, PA Mr. Smalls Theatre *\nNovember 18 Des Moines\, IA Wooly’s *\nNovember 19 Madison\, WI Atwood Music Hall *\nNovember 20 Grand Rapids\, MI The Intersection *\nNovember 21 Cleveland\, OH The Agora * \n* = headline dates with Surfer Girl & The Quasi Kings \nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading…

SUMMARY:Mpls: We Are Scientists at Turf Club (Oct 20\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:We Are Scientists at Turf Club (Oct 20\, 2026)\n\n\nOctober 20\, 2026 Tuesday\n We Are Scientists\nat Turf Club\nfirst-avenue.com\n\nWe Are Scientists is playing all the hits with the 20th Anniversary of With Love and Squalor\, at the Turf Club\, in St Paul\, on October 20\, 2026.\n\n\n \n\n\nWe last saw We Are Scientists in May 2019 and wrote\, “Next up was New York\, by the way of Berkeley\, We Are Scientists. The duo features Keith Murray on lead vocals and guitars and Chris Cain on bass and backing vocals\, but for the live shows\, they’ve added Keith Carne on drums. I’ve told this story before\, but I first discovered the band in 2006\, when the band had a massive breakthrough success with their debut With Love and Squalor. Just simply listening to the album for the first time\, we were all singing along – that’s to show you how catchy their songs are. Their set seemed shorter than usual\, but that’s probably done on purpose. Since it’s their last night of the tour\, they spent a few minutes thanking Snow Patrol for bringing them on tour. Often their banters were incoherent (something about “baby be damned”??)\, but the gist of it is\, if the band asks you to support them on tour\, “take that opportunity!”. They sure seem to have had a lot of fun on this tour. The band dedicated “Tonight” to Ryan McMullan\, stating\, “Since he dedicated a breakup ballad to us\, we wanted to return the favor with ‘Tonight’.” (which\, in turn\, was another sad\, breakup ballad).”\n\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading…

The 11-month band was really pleased at the early terrific turnout. They didn’t think anyone in the audience had heard of them (although we did write about them in May 2016)\, and jokingly announced “Here’s 8 songs you’ve never heard of!” Nick Anderson announced that ‘Favorite Liar’ (which closed out their 30-min set) was the first song they’ve ever written… and that they were happy to be back in Minneapolis. Apparently\, their bassist\, Aaron Kelley\, had families in the Twin Cities.”\nWorry Club and Kid Sistr to open. Kid Sistr was last seen in Minneapolis\, in June 2023.\n\n Worry Club at Turf Club (June 14\, 2025) \n\nWe saw Worry Club in June 2025 and wrote\, “Chicago-based indie punk pop band Worry Club was up next. Chase Walsh\, the creative center of the band\, has mostly focused on releasing singles\, and several EPs\, including 2023’s All Frogs Go to Heaven. That punk label was obvious from the jump\, with the opener Nothin being an absolute beast. The quartet (guitar/vocals\, guitar\, bass/backup vocals\, and drums) came out hot and it looked like they were determined to keep the energy bar at maximum (evidenced by the lead singer losing his hat in the second song and never looking back). Dedbody had a great guitar riff underneath and it felt like the vocals were driving things forward. The lead singer was all over the stage any time he wasn’t singing at the microphone\, and was the ringleader to the high energy antics. A bit of banter for a certain President’s birthday was pretty hysterical. Those fantastic guitar licks kept things moving at an almost unbearable pace\, but the band was able to maintain it (this was not a case of youth being wasted on the youth). In My Ear was more upbeat (not sure how that was possible)\, with a brighter tone and an audience-taught choral section to end the number. An as yet unreleased song followed and was perhaps their slowest of the evening. It helped Worry Club that they had the vocals turned all the way up and were clear as a bell. Another new song\, Anything Else\, started with a solo guitar before the rest of the band rejoined and included a change of guitar mid-song (not sure I’ve seen that before). Finishing with Same Name\, Worry Club had made a big impact on the crowd and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them playing bigger venues or headlining their own tour in the near future.”\nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading…

SUMMARY:Mpls: Seth Walker at Hook and Ladder (Oct 22\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Seth Walker\nwith Samantha Grimes \nDate Thursday\, October 22\, 2026\nDoors 7:00 PM\nRoom Theater\nAges 21+ \nSeth Walker is a revered modern Americana artist; a three dimensional talent combining a gift for melody and lyric alongside a rich\, Gospel-drenched\, Southern-inflected voice with a true blue knack for getting around on the guitar. Currently residing in Asheville after stints living in Nashville\, New Orleans and Austin\, he’s used those experiences wisely\, soaking up the sounds and absorbing the musical lineage of these varied places. \nWith a bluesman’s respect for roots and tradition\, coupled with an appreciation for contemporary songwriting\, Seth sublimely weaves a range of styles with warmth and grace. All Music declares\, “Walker is deft and elegant\, weaving together sounds and stories in a way that has a quiet\, lasting impact\,” but perhaps Country Standard Time said it best: “If you subscribe to the Big Tent theory of Americana\, then Seth Walker –with his blend of blues\, gospel\, pop\, R&B\, rock\, and a dash country—just might be your poster boy.” His latest album\, Why The Worry\, is out now. \nhttps://thehookmpls.com/shows/seth-walker-october-22-2026-731560/ \nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading…

SUMMARY:Mpls: Fruit Bats at Fine Line (Oct 22\, 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Fruit Bats at Fine Line (Oct 22\, 2026)\n\nOctober 22\, 2026 Thursday\n Fruit Bats\nat Fine Line\nfirst-avenue.com\nFruit Bats (Eric D. Johnson) returns to Minnesota\, playing the Fine Line\, on October 22\, 2026.\n\nThe ticket limit is strict. Any attempt to exceed the posted ticket limit per customer or household\, or to game the system in any way\, will result in cancellation of orders without notice. There is a transfer delay for all tickets prior to the show.\n\n \n\n Fruit Bats \n\nWe saw Fruit Bats at the Icehouse last year and said\, “It wasn’t Fruit Bats\, plural\, but just Eric D. Johnson — a man\, his guitars\, a harmonica\, and a small keyboard setup. (He mentioned that “Nathan\, in the back\, running sound” also was contributing keys and vocals — clever\, if true.) Even so\, the stripped-down format suited him. “This is going to be a little different — just one guy\, singing sad songs\, very loudly\,” he warned early on. Minneapolis’s Icehouse — perfectly sized for his bright\, tender voice — responded with near-cathedral respect and quiet. Signs around the bar politely asked for silence. “Thanks for the quiet\,” Johnson said\, “glad there’s no frozen drinks being made over at the bar.” A small mercy\, and one that kept the focus where it belonged: on his songs’ twangy melancholy and unassuming wit. (He overheard a halted “woo” during a vocal part\, and underlined that “woos” were cool and encouraged.)”\nTour Dates\n\nSep 30 – Los Angeles\, CA – Bellwether\nOct 1 – Berkeley\, CA – UC Theatre\nOct 2 – Santa Cruz\, CA – Rio Theatre\nOct 3 – Grass Valley\, CA – Center For The Arts\nOct 7 – Portland\, OR – Crystal Ballroom\nOct 9 – Seattle\, WA – Showbox SoDo\nOct 10 – Victoria\, BC – Capitol Ballroom\nOct 11 – Vancouver\, BC – Commodore\nOct 13 – Moscow\, ID – International Ballroom at University of Idaho\nOct 14 – Boise\, ID – Treefort Music Hall\nOct 15 – Missoula\, MT – The Wilma\nOct 16 – Salt Lake City\, UT – Commonwealth\nOct 17 – Denver\, CO – Mission Ballroom\nOct 20 – Lawrence\, KS – Liberty Hall\nOct 21 – Iowa City\, IA – Englert Theatre\nOct 22 – Minneapolis\, MN – Fine Line\nOct 23 – Madison\, WI – Majestic Theater\nOct 24 – Chicago\, IL – The Salt Shed\nNov 5 – Philadelphia\, PA – Union Transfer\nNov 6 – Burlington\, VT – Higher Ground Ballroom\nNov 7 – Boston\, MA – Royale\nNov 8 – Portland\, ME – State Theatre\nNov 11 – New York\, NY – Webster Hall\nNov 12 – Pittsburgh\, PA – Thunderbird\nNov 14 – Washington\, DC – 9:30 Club\nNov 15 – Carrboro\, NC – Cat’s Cradle\nNov 17 – Atlanta\, GA – Variety Playhouse\nNov 18 – Nashville\, TN – Basement East\nNov 19 – Birmingham\, AL – The Saturn\nNov 20 – New Orleans\, LA – Tipitina’s\nNov 21 – Austin\, TX – Mohawk\n\n \nSocial Share\n Share on Add Us (Opens in new window)\n Add Us\n \n Share on Instagram (Opens in new window)\n Instagram\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n More\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window)\n Mastodon\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading…

Despite what Ian Sweet told us on stage\, this was Sweet’s fourth time in Minneapolis (she mentioned she’s been three times on stage). She could be right\, she may have cancelled an appearance… but according to our W♥M archive\, this was her fourth time here: The first\, in May 31\, 2017 with Girlpool and Snail Mail at 7th Street Entry. The second with Ted Leo And The Pharmacists in November 11\, 2017. The third as headliner at the 7th Street Entry October 29\, 2018.
