Jax: Spencer Thomas at Treehouse Art Space (Mar 28, 2026)

Spencer Thomas will release Cynical Vision on March 20, 2026 via Strolling Bones Records. The 10-song set was produced by Thomas and Nate Nelson at Tweed Recording in Athens, GA and follows his acclaimed 2024 Strolling Bones debut The Joke of Life. Cynical Vision is wry and sardonic, balancing playful humor and existential dread in equal measures as it searches for moments of transcendence amidst the endless scroll of modern life. The songs here are timeless, connecting the peculiar fixations and anxieties of the present day to the eternal motivations that have driven man since the dawn of civilization: desire, jealousy, guilt, connection. It’s an album that tips its cap to everyone from Randy Newman and Lou Reed to Warren Zevon and Tom Petty and is a whip-smart meditation on the sobering absurdity and tragic beauty of living and loving in the 21st century.

Spencer Thomas has also announced his initial tour dates supporting the album, including an appearance at this year’s SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX just prior to the release. He will also celebrate Cynical Vision with a full band performance at the Avon Theatre in Atlanta, GA on April 24th. Please see tour dates (with more to be announced) below.
