KYLE GASS (Tenacious D) announces the release of a new single “Guitar Man” featuring guitar legend Steve Lukather (Toto) out today. Kyle will also set out on tour next week, all on the heels of the release of the Kyle Gass Band’s new album ‘Live in Palmdale’ (aspecialthing Records). Of course, Kyle Gass is best known to legions of fans as one half of the rock duo Tenacious D alongside Jack Black. In between Tenacious D mega-tours, Kyle stays busy with side projects ranging from Trainwreck to Kyle Gass Band to Guitarings and his own solo releases, his newest being a cover of Bread’s classic song “Guitar Man”.
On choosing “Guitar Man” for his new single, Kyle says, “David Gates has always been a favorite songwriter of mine growing up and the story of “Guitar Man” came along at a critical time in my musical development. There is a sadness to the Guitar Man I always related to, not really sure who he is but still desperately looking for just another place to play and feel alive”

On tour this spring, Kyle will be joined by Tenacious D’s John Konesky (electric guitar) with Mt. Air as back up and tour support. Kyle’s side project The Kyle Gass Band – led by Kyle, along with The D’s John Konesky (electric guitar), Mike Bray (guitar/vocals), “Uncle Jazz” (bass) and Tim Spier (drums) – honed their sound between Tenacious D’s tours and forged the master-work, ‘Live In Palmdale’. The LP is 12 rippin’ tracks recorded live at their show capturing all the party energy of the audience and the rockin’ energy of the band.
