Mpls: Lambchop at Crooners Supper Club (Aug 30, 2026)
Lambchop announced recently their highly-anticipated upcoming album, Punching The Clown, is set to be released on 21 August 2026 via City Slang. Along with the announcement they shared the lead track ‘Weakened’, today they have followed up with a new track, ‘Stella’.
Following the divine heights of its predecessor, Lambchop’s latest track settles into a state of lush minimalism; guitar and banjo intertwine beneath an omnipresent choir that drifts gracefully throughout the forthcoming album.
Speaking of the track Kurt says: “Had a long dream last night where I ended up deep in the woods playing guitar and singing. When I was done and walking back to my car there were a few people in the woods who voiced their approval. Felt pretty good. I have no idea what that was about. Some songs are like dreams, ‘Stella’ was one of those.”
The new album will feature band leader Kurt Wagner alongside Andrew Broder on guitar, Justin Vernon on banjo, a full choir helmed by Blake Morgan; recorded and mixed by Mark Nevers and produced by Ryan Olson.
