Los Angeles-based Militarie Gun announces their headline North American tour supporting the recently released album God Save The Gun. The tour, aptly named 20 Songs for 20 Dollars, sees the band selling tickets for just $20 across all dates. The 27-date tour kicks off this September in Oklahoma City with stops in Austin, Miami, Nashville, Philadelphia, Toronto, Chicago, Vancouver and more before wrapping up with a hometown show in Los Angeles on October 15th. Militarie Gun will be supported by Softcult, Shady Nasty and Dazy on select dates. Tickets go on sale June 12th at 10am local time HERE.
Speaking about the tour, vocalist Ian Shelton says, “The world is falling apart and everyone is broke, so we’re bringing you 20 Songs for 20 Dollars. We can’t control ticketing fees, but we can control whether or not the ticket is affordable to begin with. We’re excited to finally do something we’ve been talking about for a long time.”
Earlier this year, Militarie Gun shared their NPR Tiny Desk Concert Performance, where they performed stripped back and new versions of songs from throughout their discography, including “B A D I D E A,” “God Owes Me Money,” “Throw Me Away,” “Don’t Pick Up The Phone,” “Thought You Were Waving,” and “Do It Faster.”
Militarie Gun recently wrapped up their run of explosive shows with Joyce Manor across North America and are currently in the United Kingdom and Europe performing headline shows in Brighton, Berlin, and more. The band is also slated to perform various festivals across Europe and North America this year, including 2000 Trees in the UK, Rocklahoma in Oklahoma, Four Chord Music Festival in Pittsburgh, and CBGB Festival in New York City. This October, Militarie Gun will support Sex Pistols for a string of west coast dates. Full live dates can be found below.
Militarie Gun released their album God Save The Gun via Loma Vista Recordings last October, which includes the aforementioned track “God Owes Me Money,” which arrived as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record In The World and was described by Rolling Stone as “tragically catchy” along with the tracks “B A D I D E A” and “Throw Me Away,” both of which arrived alongside videos directed by vocalist and primary songwriter Ian Shelton. Militarie Gun graced the digital cover of Highsnobiety, where in the story the band discussed the making of God Save The Gun, Shelton’s role as bandleader, and the ways in which substance abuse and relationships to addiction serve as narrative throughlines across the album. Shelton also sat with SPIN Magazine to discuss the themes of God Save The Gun, the meaning of the cover artwork, and more.
