Telescreens released their new album Why The Lights Flicker. Across 20 full-throttle tracks, the quartet – Jackson Hamm, Austin Brenner, Josiah Valerius, and Oliver Graf – channels the feral energy and grand ambition of the city’s rock lineage while carving out a sound entirely their own. Inspired by moments of synchronicity in everyday life and fueled by the band’s trademark intensity, the independently released album stands as Telescreens’ boldest and most fully realized statement to date.
Fans will get a chance to hear songs from Why The Lights Flicker and other favorites this fall as the band embarks on a massive North American tour. A must-see live act, Telescreens are known for pulling entire crowds onto the dance floor, transforming each show into a joyous and immersive experience. The run kicks off on September 18 in Boston and highlights include a stop at The Echo in Los Angeles on October 5 and a 2 night stand to close out the tour at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom on October 23 and 24. Formed in New York City, Telescreens have spent years building a reputation as one of the city’s most exciting live bands, pairing conceptual ambition with a relentless devotion to the communal power of rock and roll. Following the release of their debut The Return and 2023’s 7, the quartet have continued to refine a sound that is equal parts cinematic, cathartic, and deeply rooted in the energy of their hometown.
