The Waterboys finally return to these shores on their first North American tour in six years, in support of new album, Life Death and Dennis Hopper, which is inspired by the life of the late Easy Rider actor (kind of a strange them for an album, but ‘In Mike we Trust’).
The Mike Scott-helmed band plays North America in September and October, kicking off on September 4th in Washington, DC and will wrap in Oklahoma City on October 4th.
The new record is the band’s sixteenth studio album, their first since 2022’s All Souls Hill. The lead single for the new record, “Hopper’s on Top (Genius)” arrived in January, followed by singles, including “Andy (A Guy Like You),” the Taylor (Dawes) Goldsmith-featured “I Don’t Know How I Made It,” and the Fiona Apple-featured “Letter from an Unknown Girlfriend.” The album was released in April and even features Bruce Springsteen and Scott and co. have had numerous memorable Twin Cities concerts over the last four decades, and all points indicate to another one here.
