Radiohead – Harry Patch (In Memory Of)
I am aware there are a lot of Radiohead fans on W♥M, so I thought I’d mention a recent release by Radiohead called ‘Harry Patch (In Memory Of)’. It is a tribute to Harry Patch, who died on 25th July 2009, aged 111. He was the last surviving veteran of World War 1. The song swept me off my feet as it is a fitting tribute to a man, who in later life became a convincing anti-war campaigner and a powerful critic of all wars in general. I have no intention of posting the song on here. Buy it as it only costs £1 and the money goes to the Royal British Legion, ‘a UK charity providing help and welfare to the serving and ex-Service community and their families’.
If you would like to read more about Harry Patch then check out the write-up in the Independent. The song can be purchased directly from the Radiohead Online Store.
