Adam Ant

Adam Ant just wrapped up his 2012 US tour with last night's performance at the City National Grove of Anaheim, in Anaheim, California. …
ADAM ANT
adam-ant.com

You might remember Adam Ant as the lead singer of the 80s band Adam and the Ants? After the band broke up, he went solo, scoring top ten hit singles in the UK, including "Antmusic", "Goody Two Shoes", and "Stand and Deliver".

Recently, the 80s icon was carded for alcohol at a gas station in Kentucky. Instead of being offended, Ant (who was once voted Sexiest Man Alive by MTV viewers), hope it happens more, "I can only hope that I continue to be asked for proof of age for many years to come."

Ant is currently in the middle of his North American tour for his new record, Adam Ant is The Blueblack Hussar in Marrying The Gunner’s Daughter.

The new album was released earlier this year (2013), so I do not believe those new songs were played on his 2012 show in California.

ADAM BONES

Hard rocker Adam Bones is releasing his new EP Rock It Up on September 10th via Knitting Factory. I think my favorite part of the press release is the fact that he has "an amy of women" called Rikki Styxx (drums), Tracy Lambertucci (bass), and Breanna Fields (guitar).

Unfortunately, it looks like you have to live in California to benefit from the live Adam Bones dates. See details below:

08/10/13 – Doll Factory, Los Angeles

08/23/13 – On The Rocks Bar & Grill, Bakersfield

08/24/13 – Park Bar, Burbank

08/29/13 – Sunset Strip Farmers Market,
Hollywood

09/18/13 – Club Moscow,
Hollywood

ADAM MARSLAND
adammarsland.com

Los Angeles' Adam Marsland has a new album called The Owl and the Full Moon.

The inspiration for the title came from this experience: "I was up in the Santa Monica Mountains hiking. It was after dark, warm, beautiful night, huge moon out, and an owl flew over my head and perched on a nearby tree. I felt so at peace and inspired. And I went home and wrote the music to "The Owl and the Full Moon" and thought, 'when I get that feeling again, I'll finish the song, and maybe write a whole new album that's happy and inspirational and uplifting.' A year went by, and I never got that feeling again."

You can check out those songs on his live appearances:

08/09/13 – Luna Lounge* – Sacramento, CA
08/10/13 – Pistol Pete's* – Auburn, CA
08/11/13 – Hotel Utah – San Francisco, CA
08/23/13 – Brennan's Pub – Marina Del Rey, CA

SAMMY ADAMS
sammyadamsmusic.com

Singer, songwriter, and producer Sammy Adams just premiered his official new video for his single, "LA Story" on VEVO. The video was directed by Jon Augustavo and you can watch it here.

About the song, Adams said, "LA Story embodies living life the way you want to and having success with it. Although I started in Boston, everyone strives to live their dreams, and Los Angeles is where I'm able to do that best at the moment. The song was inspired by all the places I've been and where I thankfully am today."

Adams just wrapped up his spring national tour with T. Mills, so I don't have any additional new dates… but look for his latest "LA Story" single, which is out now on RCA Records.

ADAM RUDOLPH
metarecords.com

This is the sound of composer, percussionist, and conductor Adam Rudolph's Go: Organic Orchestra (or abbreviated to Adam and G:OO) is releasing Sonic Mandela on September 17th on Meta Records.

Rudolph's philosophy on music, "What became interesting to me, the more I worked with my mentors, wasn't just how they played, or what instruments they played, or the sounds they made, but how they approached what they did. I was most interested in what their relationship was to music itself, the context and musical elements that were universal."

In addition to the upcoming release, there will be workshops available in New York (free admission):

08/11/2013 G:OO Workshops, Shapeshifter Studios
08/18/2013 G:OO Workshops, Shapeshifter Studios
08/25/2013 G:OO Workshops, Shapeshifter Studios
10/03/2013 CD release Show at Roulette, Brooklyn

TIM & ADAM

timandadam.com

Tim & Adam is a couple/duo from various bands (The Postmarks, Whirlaway, I Am Stereo, Hello Human). Their debut self-titled album is out now and is said to sound like a "dreamy carnival".

I think the interesting thing about this band is that Tim is a girl's name.
