Ryan Adams

I discovered via Stereogum, that Ryan Adams blogged about his decision to stop making music (and to stop blogging) and then later went back and deleted the blog. Fortunately …
Butch Walker

How generous is rocker Butch Walker to his diehard fans? Enough to give up the stage for his biggest radio hit, and let an audience member instead sing it to the crowd. More on that in a moment… …

RYAN ADAMS with Butch Walker

at Northrop Auditorium

Monday 10/13/14

$38 / $49.50 (Door): northrop.umn.edu

It’s probably just me, but whenever I think of Ryan Adams, I think of Bryan Adams. You know, that “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You” fella?
Ryan Adams is the cooler/hipper, younger singer/songwriter.

Adams recently blamed “walking the dogs” as why it took three years to release his new, self-titled album, via NY Times:
“Some of that time was life, like yardwork, walking the dogs. I made a record with Glyn Johns, and we spent a bunch of money on it too. Then I had to go sit at a dinner table with my manager and the head of Capitol Records and say, “Hey, man, you can’t put this out.” It was about losing my grandmother. It was too sad…”

Opener Butch Walker is on tour in support of his seventh LP, Afraid Of Ghosts (out now on Dangerbird Records). Apparently the two are friends, as Adams produced the record at his PAX AM Studios in Los Angeles.

The Adams/Walker tour dates:
