For London singer FKA twigs (aka Tahliah Debrett Barnett), it’s the opposite of a Twilight – it’s the beginnings of a very promising career. Her much anticipated debut album, titled LP1 (via Young Turks) was just released in August, as a follow up to the previous EP1 and EP2 releases.
Prince has professed to being a fan, Time magazine has called the album “that transition to one of the most compelling and complex acts in R&B”, Pitchfork says of it, “a huge album, a monumental debut,” and The Guardian declared, “LP1 is genuinely brilliant.” With that acclaim, a nomination for the Mercury Music Prize, and attention-grabbing headlines as Robert Pattinson’s current squeeze, it’s no wonder the buzz is scorching hot and the area show long sold out.

“Stray Cat Strut”, “(She’s) Sexy + 17”, and “Rock This Town”, so I love Setzer.
Opener Los Angeles’ The Record Company band is described by the Time Out LA as if “John Lee Hooker and The Stooges had a love-child”, which to say is blues and rock fusion music. Look for the band to play some tracks from their Superdead debut EP, as well as recent cuts like “Rita Mae Young”, on this 2014 tour.
