Coming up on its 12th year, Athens Popfest will take place August 10 – 13, 2016 in Athens, Georgia.
Popfest was founded in 2004 by HHBTM (Happy Happy Birthday To Me) Records. This 4-day festival features shows at Little Kings Shuffle Club, The World Famous and Georgia Theatre. During the dog days of summer in Georgia, when temperatures soar into the 90s, an indoor music festival really is a breath of fresh air. Popfest features over 50 bands and the scheduling is staggered so you can see them all!
This year’s headliners include: Daniel Johnston, Deerhoof, Ought and Elf Power. Also featured will be Athens favorites Shehehe, Nana Grizol, Tunabunny, and the original lineup of Love Tractor. And let’s not forget newcomers Haybaby, Halfsour and Dead Neighbors.
