Norway’s Enslaved is headlining the Cabooze on Saturday. Typical of these metal shows, there are a ton of opening band (making it worth the price of admission). Be sure to show up early to check out Danish composer and classically trained multi-instrumentalist Myrkur (aka Amalie Bruun). We caught Myrkur in April 2016 and noted, “There’s no denying front-woman, Amalie Bruun’s, immense talent. Her voice is flawless and beautiful….”

2x Grammy-nominated DJ/producer Steve Aoki is back on his Kolony tour, hitting the new/old venue The Armory this Saturday. We previously caught Aoki at the Epic in November 2013 and wrote, “The rest of the evening continued without any difficulties, and included the things you’ve come to expect from an Aoki show: transforming robots, cake, and lots of dancing. Spoiler alert, the transforming robots was the coolest thing I’ve seen at a concert. I didn’t see it coming, when it happened, everyone around me had that “What. The. F.” look.”

J Boog (not to be confused with actor/rapper J-Boog) was in town (last year), he had shown off his latest music video called “Good Cry” featuring Chaka Demus, from his new album Wash House Ting (from November 2016).



Now J Boog (aka Jerry Afemata) is back at the Turf Club this Monday and he’s bringing his two Jamaica-born friends Jesse Royal and
Etana to the show.
