The world’s first virtual music festival, Splendour XP, will be taking place this July 24th to July 25th.
We covered the Australian music festival as Splendour in the Grass in 2011 and 2015 and they generally get really amazing headliners for their shows. We’re talking big names, like Kanye West, Coldplay, and Blur.
As usual, Splendour is booking some amazing acts for 2021: The Killers, Chvrches, Charlie XCX, Grimes, Khalid (not to be confused with DJ Khaled), and so many more! See full listing below.
Personally speaking, we like physically being at the show, but I can see the appeal for those interested in a virtual experience. For example, think of all the money you will be saving: from eating at home or price of entry. Plus, you don’t have to worry about catching COVID, etc.
It’s also convient, you can watch it on your phone, tablet, desktop, VR, or any web browser (this is perfect for those with Android box/NVIDIA Shield or Apple TV) … all this and you don’t even have to leave the house. Pants are optional!
So, let’s say you miss an act because of confusing time zones and set times – that is not a problem! All performances are available to access online for 24 hours.
