Sonder CD Release Party

with The Hive and Katy Vernon

at 7th Street Entry

first-avenue.com

Local talent singer/songwriter Tori Evans is having a CD release show for her album Sonder on September 1st, 2021, at the 7th Street Entry. Her start in music started when she was 15 years old at the Ukefest 2017 at The Hook & Ladder Theater. Since then, Tori has performed over 100 shows throughout the Twin Cities, all before she turned 18.

Opening will be Minneapolis’ The Hive (not to be confused with Sweden’s rockers The Hives) and Katy Vernon.

We caught Vernon with Lucy Rose in Oct 2013 and mentioned that “ Singer/songwriter Katy Vernon opened up the show, she is actually British-born, but is currently living in the U.S… Because we were at the Amsterdam Bar & Hall, it reminded her of how she met her husband (leaving Amsterdam) and she wrote about it in her song “Better For You.””

The last time we heard from Graveyard Club, they had released their new single “Valens” (an homage to Ritchie Valens). Their album Goodnight Paradise was praised by The New York Times as “brooding, yearning electro goth”.

Graveyard Club is headlining the 7th Street Entry. They’ve asked Aaron Rice (formerly of Aaron and the Sea) to open.

We caught Graveyard Club in July 2019, right before their national tour, and wrote, “Local Graveyard Club closed out the show, playing plenty of songs from their new album Goodnight Paradise. It’s a long road from when we first saw them in Sep 2014, describing their music as, “a handful of spooky synth-laced gems” from their debut Nightingales.”

Graveyard Club writes:
