As the Rolling Stones’ 50th Anniversary Tour continues into 2015, the band has entered the digital download era not with recent shows from their current tour, but a handful of more classic shows on both



A couple of musician deaths this week.



Recently, Reggae giant and Dub pioneer, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, has passed away at the age of 85.



According to Rolling Stone, they wrote:


Lee “Scratch” Perry, the monumental reggae singer, producer and studio wizard who pushed the boundaries of Jamaican music — and as a byproduct, rock, hip-hop and dance — with his explorations into dub, has died at the age of 85.



The Jamaican Observer reports that Perry died Sunday at the Noel Holmes Hospital in western Jamaica. Cause of death was unknown at press time.




Also, Charlie Watts, the drummer for The Rolling Stones had died at the age of 80, last Tuesday.



Many fans saw this coming, considering that the ‘Stones announced that Steve Jordan will be replacing Watts as drummer for their September 2021 tour.



BBC writes:


He had been a member of the Stones since January 1963, when he joined Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Brian Jones in their fledgling group.


Watts helped them become, with The Beatles, one of the bands who took rock ‘n’ roll to the masses in the 60s with classics like (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction, Jumpin’ Jack Flash, Get Off My Cloud and Sympathy for the Devil.
