English singer/songwriter Maisie Peters sold out the 7th Street Entry, on the first night of her first US tour. In fact, she’s been selling out all of her shows, this is probably thanks to her 100 million streams of her single, “Worst Of You”.

Singer/songwriter Jonah Kagen opened the show. This was Kagen’s first US tour, and he is very excited to play.
The 22-year-old from Georgia said that he spent four years in Minneapolis, attending college here… but admitted that it was simply too cold for him to permanently live here.

For his song, “Lost in New York”, he tried to change it to “Minneapolis”, just for this show, but unfortunately he said there were too many syllables and it just didn’t work for the song.

Kagen ended his set with “Broken”.

Maisie Peters started her music career on YouTube. She signed to Atlantic Records and released two EPs, Dressed Too Nice for a Jacket and It’s Your Bed Babe, It’s Your Funeral… and Ed Sheeran heard her music and signed her on his label, Gingerbread Man Records, for her debut album You Signed Up for This.

As you can see from the setlist, she basically played every song that she’s ever written… and everyone on the dance floor knew all the songs and would help sing along.

Popular songs on the setlist includes recent single, “Psycho”, and “Outdoor Pool”.

She dedicated “Boy” to a girl named Kate, who recently broke up with her boyfriend (“he sucks!”) when he was shipped off in the military.

Peters, who is still quite young, also had breakup stories of her own… like the time she attended a house party in the USA (maybe it was in New York, as the story was told after playing “Brooklyn”). Anyway, she hit it off with this guy, but he simply said he had to leave… and went away. Later on, she found out that it was his house.

Her other breakup story was receiving a breakup text at 9am… from a stranger who “was not my boyfriend.” Maybe she can work this into a future song, it’s simply too funny.

Maisie Peters’s acclaimed debut album You Signed Up For This is out now on Gingerbread Man Records.
