They Might Be Giants
tmbg.com

As you know, we love They Might Be Giants and will always promote the band whenever we can.

Recently the band received a Grammy nomination for “Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package” for their project BOOK, which is a full-length album and a 144-page art book.

And yes, I bought Book at their recent sold-out appearance at First Avenue in Oct 2022. I will usually buy something at the merch to help support the band on tour, and I’m so glad I bought Book, because, for whatever reason, the Book came pre-autographed! While not my first autographs for TMBG, it was an unexpected happy surprised, and shows how cool John & John are about saying ‘Thank you’ for coming to their live shows.

As for the Book, itself, it’s a very large book. It looks very cool and is really the perfect gift to give to diehard TMBG fans. This is something you can proudly display in a book shelf or as a coffee book. It’s really designed for you to read something, while you play TMBG’s new album.

If you’re heading out to an upcoming show, be sure to pick up Book, as it’s autographed, and well worth the purchase.

Elle King

Award winning, singer-songwriter Elle King recently released “Jersey Giant,” a never-before-released song by acclaimed artist Tyler Childers.

“Tyler Childers is not too far from where my family lives and he’s a legend,” said King. “The life of a song is something so beautiful to me, and country music has taught me to see that the opportunity to sing a song written by someone else, is nothing short of a gift, a blessing. When you hear a song and say ‘I wish I wrote that’ you know it’s a good’n. I was humbled and so excited that Tyler gave his song to me. I tried to blend the two worlds of honoring traditional bluegrass and what country music is to me. Thank you, Tyler, for your music, and thank you for entrusting me with this gift. I’m so excited for everyone to hear it.”

King is set to release her new album Come Get Your Wife.

Young the Giant

Irvine’s Young the Giant recently returned to Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform “The Walk Home,” from their new album American Bollywood.

We caught Young the Giant in Feb 2019 and said, “With a mostly bare stage against the shape of a glowing cube centered above and behind them, Young the Giant began their eighty-minute headlining set with the ominous ‘Oblivion’ from fourth full-length album Mirror Master (Elektra Records) a song that lyrically freely exposes fears and vulnerabilities. The five-piece (Sameer Gadhia-vocals; Jacob Tilley- guitar); Eric Cannata- guitar); Payam Doostzadeh- bass ; Francois Comtois- drums) has become an increasingly seasoned live band and lyrically, is one of those rare acts that can look both inward and outward with compelling effectiveness, often musically understated and never overdoing it.”
