Indie-rock band Magic City Hippies is back on tour in support of their third album Water Your Garden.

We didn’t see the band last January 2022, but briefly saw them with Hippo Campus in Mar 2017 and said, “Opening up the show was Florida’s Magic City Hippies…. in for a treat with the snowstorm outside. Normally a trio (Robby Hunter, Pat Howard, John Coughlin), the Miami-based band was expanded to a five-piece with a keyboardist and additional guitarist. This was the band’s first national tour, and they were super excited to be billed with Hippo Campus.”

Radio K SHORT CiRCUiT Residency
feat Blu Bone, Destiny Spike and XINA
at 7th St Entry

first-avenue.com

This is the fourth, and final, Radio K’s Short Circuit Residency show at the 7th Street Entry. The kickoff event is this January 9th.

The radio station wrote:

Happy New Year from your friends at Radio K!!

2022 was a year of sharing great music, so let’s look back on what music surfed our radio waves

THANK YOU to all our listeners who made this year so special

Performers:

  • Blu Bone

Interdisciplinary Artist I CLAIM THE VICTORY THE WAR ALREADY WON

  • Destiny Spike

Its hard being Janet in a world full of Letoyas, you think inside the box I think like I’m already famous.

  • XINA

XINA (rhymes with China) is a 23-year-old, multi-disciplinary artist based in the Twin Cities. If you ask what she does, she’ll simply say “arts and crafts,” an umbrella term for her expansive roles as a singer/songwriter, dancer, choreographer, producer, director, designer, and entertainer. With both hands on every aspect of the process, she creates genre-bending music with intensity and vulnerability balanced with a sophisticated mystique. By exercising her intuitive finesse across a growing body of work and into rich, inventive live performances, XINA is proving impossible to ignore.

If your band is coming to the Minneapolis/St Paul area, please email details to vu@weheartmusic.com with a good lead time. Thank you.
