Nashville-based singer-songwriter BabyJake is currently on tour in support of his third album Aren’t We Ever Gonna Be More Than Friends?.

Talking about the new album, BabyJake said, “I wrote some of the songs the day before we recorded and I wrote others 3 years ago. At the end of the day, I picked the ones I was keen on in the moment and let them rip. We recorded the album with a full live band and tracked the drums, bass, guitar, and vocals all at the same time. We ran the entire album through tape as well. It took about 6 months to record, master, and get it completely done. This is my first independent album since 2016. This is my first Rock & Roll album. This is my first album I have been a main producer on. This is my first album I can perform from start to finish with an acoustic guitar. I want it to be best rock album of the year.”

Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Cut Worms (aka Max Clarke) is out on tour in support of his new self-titled album (available on Jagjaguwar).

We saw Cut Worm at Desert Daze 2018 and wrote, “There was a rather stark contrast of ear-piercing rock music amidst this stunning scenery, but in a way, it just made sense that people were swimming on unicorn floaties while listening to the tunes of Cut Worms or Julia Holter. The installations scattered around-from teepees with hanging seashells formed into jellyfish to a space-ship treehouse on stilts-gave everyone something to marvel at in between sets or even all day, if one felt so inclined.”
