Los Angeles-based rock duo Deap Vally recently re-recorded their version of their debut LP, entitled SISTRIONIX 2.0. This is the ten-year anniversary of their original Sistrionix, which we wrote about in Aug 2013.
To commemorate its swan-song moment, Deap Vally, promising to play their debut album in its entirety.
Lindsey Troy says, “SISTRIONIX is just classic Deap Vally. It’s so pure and raw. It really encapsulates an era — an era of dank, yeasty backstage rooms across the UK, of the endorphin rush of that first wave of success, of youthful drunken, wild nights, of the worldly adventures and the newness of it all.”
“We’re just going to go to play as many places as we can and say farewell to everyone,” Julie Edwards adds. “Though the band is playing live for the last time, the door is open to us to collaborate. Now we’re all about re-establishing a workflow and connection around our friendship, after all we’ve shared together along the way.”

Deap Vally (03 June 2014)
|
We saw Deap Vally in their “first Minneapolis” appearance in 03 June 2014 and said, “”This is our first time in Minneapolis … and I know it’s a Tuesday night, but this is a rock ‘n roll show, so let’s get loose!” said drummer Julie Edwards, one half of Los Angeles duo, Deap Vally, who opened the show with a breakneck set of their own. Although this was a technically true statement, the duo was actually at St. Paul’s Turf Club last year, opening for The Whigs.”
The girls’ first Twin Cities appearance was actually at the Turf Club, in St Paul, in June 2013… so it is fitting that they are going to say farewell to us at the Turf Club in Feb 11, 2024.
Sloppy Jane to open. The band previously headlined the Fine Line in October 2022.

Man, I love The Kills. I love VV’s voice, and I love Hotel’s guitar work. The two are just unbeatable.
The British/American duo will be touring in support of their 2023 album God Games, available on Domino Records.

The Kills (03 June 2014)
|
We saw The Kills in 03 June 2014 and said, “Alison Mosshart (aka “VV”) stormed across the stage with so much attitude that you almost had to take a step back. She is a tall, slender, drop dead gorgeous woman with such an amazing set a pipes on her that she almost seemed too good to be true. She was mesmerizing to watch as she moved to the music. She had the crowd completely captivated by her movements and her gorgeous voice. There were a few brief moments where she would go to the back of the stage for a sip of water or to sit for a minute but even then, I couldn’t take my eyes off her. Her presence was just something that you cannot put into words. and it truly took my breath away. Her male counterpart, Jamie Hince (aka “Hotel”), was just as entertaining as he played the guitar with so much passion that it was clear he was loving being on stage and playing.”
The Paranoyds to open. The band previously headlined the Fine Line in October 2022.
