Beach Weather
with Phoneboy & Rec Hall
at Amsterdam Bar & Hall

amsterdambarandhall.com

American alternative pop-rock band Beach Weather has re-united, with their biggest hit song “Sex, Drugs, Etc.” (certified Platinum in May 2023). Their debut album Pineapple Sunrise came out last year on Arista Records. What an amazing story, as the band originally formed in 2015 to open for The Maine… and after burning bright for a few years, the band faded into “indefinite hiatus” status.

And yes, we saw them in Sep 2015: “Everything about last night was calm and chill. The opening band, Beach Weather, was awesome. The Maine sounded great. Nothing happened during the show. There were no fights, nothing really to note. Usually I would chalk that up to a boring and bad night. Last night was anything but boring and bad. It was chill and I had a great time.”

If you missed them out the first time (2015-2017), go see them in 2024 on “Pineapple Sunrise” tour. Original band leader, singer, and rhythm guitarist Nick Santino (A Rocket to the Moon), with Reeve Powers (bass), Ian Holubiak (lead guitar) and Austin Scates (drums).

Beach Weather will stop by the Amsterdam Bar & Hall, in St Paul, with Phoneboy and Rec Hall, as support.

Matisyahu
with Cydeways
at First Avenue

first-avenue.com

Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and alternative reggae rock musician Matisyahu is on tour in 2024 in support of his new EP Hold the Fire, just released February 2nd via his own label, Fallen Sparks Records.

We saw Matisyahu in 24 Oct 2015 and wrote, “We’ve seen Matisyahu before, but Saturday’s show was possibly the best show we’ve ever seen – and it’s thanks to clearly hearing every note from his very excellent live band, away from the distractions of a regular “rock” show where fans are constantly talking. Unfortunately, fans weren’t used to the sit-down environment of the “theater style” shows. At first everyone was respectful (with some dancing fans going to the back to dance away without obscuring someone’s view of the stage). Of course, all that changed when the second set of Matisyahu when everyone stood up (with encouragement from the singer).”

Cydeways to open.
