Laetitia Sadier

French musician, Laetitia Sadier, famous for being in Stereolab, will be out on tour in support of her album Rooting For Love. The record will be available February 23rd release via Drag City, but you can always pick it up on this upcoming 2024 tour. Sadier will headline the Turf Club on March 11.

We caught Stereolab at Desert Daze 2019 and wrote, “Stereolab was as delightful as I’m sure they were in the 90’s. Laetitia swayed about the Moon stage in a multi-colored dress yelling to the crowd “Let’s ping pong now!” going right into the song off the Mars Audiac Quintet album. She kept saying cute little quips to introduce songs, such as “This is, yes, it’s a love song!” or “Are we all on an extension trip? Yes, this is the future of illusion. Fantasy.” These guys rocked out while still keeping it dreamy with a sort of sprinkling of mod 60’s pop. This upbeat set under an almost full moon was otherworldly and something that is a once in a lifetime experience. Come and Play in the Milky Night and French Disko neared the end of the show, with Lo Boob Oscillator capping it off.”

Susan James was announced as support act, but as of this writing, is not confirmed for the Turf Club.

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum (SGM) reunited after 13 years to complete their fourth studio album titled Sleepytime Gorilla Museum of the Last Human Being (available February 23, 2024) on AVANT NIGHT – a new imprint headed by Nick Ohler and facilitated by Joyful Noise Recordings.

There’s also a tour to promote the record… SGM will stop by the Fine Line in Minneapolis on March 12th, 2024.

Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist Kid Bloom (Lennon Kloser) is touring in support of his new EP Inner Light Part 1 (Position Music). Kid Bloom will celebrate the release of Inner Light Part 1 with the “Inner Light” tour, his biggest North American tour to date, and will be making a stop in St. Paul, at the Amsterdam Music Hall on 3/14. Kid Bloom previously headlined the 7th Street Entry in Oct 2022.

Arlo Parks’ 2024 tour in support of My Soft Machine will stop by First Avenue this March 15, 2024. She was previously the special guest for The Current’s winter show called “Unplugged Music & Poetry”.

The poetry show has more to do with Arlo’s debut book, THE MAGIC BORDER: Poetry And Fragments From My Soft Machine, published by HarperCollins Publishing. The book consists of lyrics from her recent sophomore album, My Soft Machine, with new exclusive images by Daniyel Lowden, and 20 new poems.

It’s finally happening. Welsh band Mclusky will be at First Avenue this March 16, 2024. We’ve been waiting for them to return, since they had to announced their postponed tour in 2022.

Last September, the group released a double A-side single, “Unpopular Parts Of A Pig/The Digger You Deep,” their first new music since 2005… and the music is a return to “the classic Mclusky sound here, defined largely by plenty of zippy guitar riffs and vocalist Andrew Falkous’ distinct sneer” as noted by Consequence.

Iconic music mavericks KMFDM is back on tour in support of their new album Let Go via Metropolis Records. Let Go marks the group’s 23rd studio album, with the core lineup of Sascha “Käpt’n K” Konietzko, Lucia Cifarelli, Andy Selway and Andee Blacksugar.

We saw KMFDM in 15 Aug 2015, and wrote, “I think KMFDM is on the right track, as far as their business model goes. It’s the old model, but it works: tour the world with live shows, meeting their fans in person, keeping personal contacts with their fans, and selling a billion shirts. It works, I’ve seen it with KMFDM and other bands.”
