Mpls: April 22 to April 26, 2026
Here are some shows in Minneapolis/St Paul from April 22 to April 26, 2026: • Jake Owen at The Fitzgerald Theater (Apr 23, 2026) • Dethklok & Amon Amarth at Armory (April 24, 2026) • Barns Courtney at Turf Club (Apr 26, 2026)
Jake Owen will be headlining the Fitzgerald Theater, in St Paul, in support of the new album Dreams To Dream.
Possibly due to an “act of God” of a blizzard that hit the Midwest, the Minnesota and Chicago shows were rescheduled to April.
This show was originally scheduled for March 19, 2026. It has been rescheduled and will now take place on April 23, 2026. All tickets purchased for the March 19, 2026 performance will remain valid for the new date, so please hang on to your original ticket for entrance.
We saw Owen in July 2022 and said, “Florida native Jake Owen closed the night, in support of latest full-length, Greetings from… Jake, his first on the Big Loud label, after leaving RCA. Newer songs like “Down to the Honkytonk” and the Mellencamp-sampled, “I Was Jack (You Were Diane)” fit in well alongside older classics like “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” and his first breakout single, “Yee Haw”.”
Kendell Marvel to open.
Dethklok and Amon Amarth are co-headlining the massive Armory, in Minneapolis, this April 24, 2026.
We caught Dethklok in Sep 2023 and wrote, “Next up was co-headliner Dethklok. Like Gorillaz, Dethklok is a fictional animated band. Originally appearing on the Metalocalypse cartoon show (on Adult Swim). All the music created for Metalocalypse was created by Brendon Small, and they released his music in the debut album The Dethalbum (as Dethklok) in 2007. Now in 2023, they have a fourth album, Dethalbum IV. If you’re wondering why it took so long for the new album (an 11 year absent since Dethalbum III in 2012), it’s because it has partially due to the copyright ownership of the Dethklok name by Adult Swim. They must have come to a mutual agreement, because Dethklok is back, and stronger than ever, based on seeing the response from the audience.”
Also worth noting is that Castle Rat will open. We’re very in love with the band, having seen them in and said, “Headlining was Castle Rat, delivering a powerful blend of Doom Metal, fantasy storytelling, and… sword fighting! Did I mention they’re theatrical? On lead vocals and rhythm guitar is the Rat Queen and all-around renaissance woman herself, Riley Pinkerton, backed by a band of fantasy characters: The Count (Franco Vittore, lead guitar/backing vocals), The Plague Doctor (Charley Ruddel, bass), The Druid (Josh Strmic, drums), and the Rat Reapress—not a musician, but a performer and antagonist to our heroic musicians (Rebecca Corrigan). Nostalgic clean vocals, Sabbath worthy bass lines, all the riffs you could want, gripping guitar solos, and a maniac of a drummer that I still won’t stop talking about… that’s a recipe for success on its own. Now add in a story line woven through the albums and into the stage show and a call to action for the crowd to assist the band in saving The Realm… the crowd went insane for this band.”

Barns Courtney is currently doing a solo acoustic tour – stopping by the Turf Club, in St Paul, on April 26, 2026.
We saw Barnes Courtney in Nov 2016 and wrote, “The night began with a frenzied forty-minute opening set from relatively new singer-songwriter Barns Courtney, an Ipswich, UK native who grew up in Seattle and who has an initial EP, Hands (Capitol/ Virgin-EMI) out now, with full-length due in the new year. Courtney and band worked hard to get the still-filling room into his corner and pulled it off with songs like his initial single, ‘Glitter & Gold’ and even pulled a move out of the Tantrums playbook during hit, ‘Fire’ (heard in the Bradley Cooper chef movie, Burnt as well) by having everyone huddle low on the ground, before exploding up for the song’s chorus. Based on the warm reception he’s received locally, expect a return headlining show, once the album is released.”
Belle and Chain to open.
