Tom Morello
Tom Morello is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter and political activist. He is known for his tenure with the rock bands Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave.
Power to the People
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame guitarist and acclaimed activist Tom Morello announced his Power To The People Festival — a celebration of peace, justice, solidarity, music, and community action — taking place Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD.
Earlier this year, he organized a similar Defend Minnesota! event, donating that money to the cause against I.C.E. and to unite people. We love this guy! So, any opportunity, we will help spread the word.
Unlike that stupid Donald Trump’s Freedom 250 concert that no one wanted to play, the Power to the People’s one-day festival will bring together this amazing lineup: Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews, Bruce Springsteen, Joan Baez, Brittany Howard, Dropkick Murphys, Jack Black (featuring Roman Morello, Revel Ian, Yoyoka Soma and Hugo Weiss), Serj Tankian, Cypress Hill, Killer Mike, grandson, The Neighborhood Kids, Taylor Momsen, Matt Cameron, The Linda Lindas, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels and Tom Morello, alongside artwork and a DJ set by legendary artist Shepard Fairey.
Holy crap! All the musicians you love, music for the people, by the people… Power to the people!
So many musicians wanted to donate their time and appearance for this show that I’m sure Morello had to say no to a lot of fellow musicians! However, it looks like he made an exception, and he recently said Public Enemy was added to the bill! The already incredible lineup has just gotten better! To make this event even better, I hope they add Morris Day and all the artists that said no to Trump’s Freedom 250 shows.
Morello will take a portion of the proceeds from all ticket sales (with 100% of the net proceeds from VIP tickets) will be donated to VoteRiders – a pro-democracy, pro-voter organization working to restore and strengthen democracy by eliminating confusing and restrictive ID-related barriers to the ballot box – and HeadCount who will also be on site to help fans register to vote and learn more about how to participate in upcoming elections.

Musicians against I.C.E.
Musicians against I.C.E. is a series from WHM. With the recent ICE murders of Renée Good and Alex Pretti, it had united and inspired musicians across the glob to stand against the brutality of Donald Trump’s I.C.E.
Freedom 250 (Cancelled)
Donald Trump, the man who demanded a military parade (just like the ones seen in North Korea and Russia) for his birthday, a UFC fight in front of the White House for his birthday, and recently wanted a concert in Washington DC called Freedom 250 (disguised as America’s birthday).
Of course, as soon as the lineup were announced for Trump’s Freedom concert, Morris Day, Young MC, Milli Vanilli, Martina McBride, Bret Michaels (Poison), and The Commodores all announced that they were dropping out. Milli Vanilli didn’t even know they were playing and was shocked to see their names associated with the event.
That pretty much left Vanilla Ice, Flo Rida, and C+C Music Factory (Freedom Williams said he hated Trump but won’t let let his fans dictate what he can or can’t do and was only playing out of principle). In the “Things that Makes You Go Hmmmm” department: I suspect if C+C were to play, Williams will be criticizing Trump and the damage he’s done to America.
With so many musicians cancelling their Freedom 250 appearances, Trump decided he would turn the event to a Make America Great Again rally.
This whole thing reminds me of musicians boycotting Trump by cancelling their appearance at the so-named Trump-Kennedy Memorial Center. I’ve documented over 50 artists cancelled their appearance at the venue (including Jon Batiste, Ben Folds, Low Cut Connie, Rhiannon Giddens, The Cookers, and Béla Fleck), that it forced Trump to close the center for two years for “renovations”. The sad truth about the closure is the save the embarrassment that they couldn’t book anyone to play there.
Recently, a judge ruled that it was illegal for Donald Trump to add his name to the Kennedy Center, writing in his decision.
Congress made clear that the Kennedy Center would serve as both the nation’s premier performing arts center and a living memorial, the sole one dedicated to the late president in the Washington, D.C. area. The center has played those roles for over five decades… Congress gave the Kennedy Center its name, and only Congress can change it.
It’ll take a lot of work, but hopefully with Trump out of the picture, that the Kennedy Center will be restored to what it once was.
