Chicago-based brit-pop Secret Colours is coming to Minneapolis to play a very spacey/psychedelic set starring BATHYSPHERE (featuring Dean Wareham & Britta Phillips, both former members of Luna).

Billed as “BATHYSPHERE: A PSYCHONAUTICAL VOYAGE featuring DEAN & BRITTA play Galaxie 500”, this showcase is taking over 7th Street and the Main Room in Minneapolis for July 5th. All nine bands on the bill play spacey rock or shoegaze or psychedelic rock so if that’s your bag, you need to get tickets now.

According to the event listing page, here’s the itinerary:

MAINROOM

  • Dean & Britta Play Galaxie 500
  • Sonic Boom
  • First Communion Afterparty
  • Cheval Sombre
  • Secret Colours
  • Magic Castles
7TH ST ENTRY

Trivia: Britta Phillips is the singing voice of cartoon character JEM “is for excitement!”

THE COLOURIST

You remember how I saw the Colourist and absolutely fell in love with them?
There was just something really good about their catchy boy/girl/boy/girl pop songs that I really love hearing.

Well, looks like The Colourist is officially releasing their debut single, “Little Games”, backed with a Magic Man remix their hit song “Yes Yes”. Hear the remix song:
