UPDATE

07/14/2024 Sunday
St Paul Songwriter Rounds
feat Samuel John,
Avery Seed,
Jeff Larson,
Dawson Sabah Kimyon,
FINICK
at the White Squirrel Bar

whitesquirrelbar.com

According to the website, the St. Paul Songwriter Rounds at the White Squirrel Bar is one of the Twin Cities best places to catch the best in the art of songwriting. The night features 4 to 5 songwriters taking the stage simultaneously, sharing songs and stories one after another!

We just saw FINICK at the Taste of Minnesota and said, “Finick was there to play some songs from her debut album Where Could We Go? (2023). Despite her young age, she’s already put together a summer tour with an appearance at the Winnipeg Folk Festival on July 12, the Elliott Smith Tribute show at White Squirrel on Aug 5 (Smith’s birthday is August 6), and then Waterworks Building on Aug 15.”

Jeff Larson is a very common name, there’s a few singers named Larson, including a certain Jeffrey Robert Larson from Minneapolis.

Transplant from Rhode Island, Avery Seed recently received the Empower Rising Star Award: “Congratulations to Avery Seed (Music 2024) on receiving the Empower Rising Star Award from TeamWomen. The award was presented at the TeamWomen WaveMaker Awards on October 12, 2023. The Empower Rising Star Award recognizes an Empower Leadership Academy attendee who has applied skills and strategies from the academy to their life and is impacting their community. The recipient demonstrates one or more of the 4 pillars of Empower: Leadership, Confidence, Well-Being, & Resilience, through self-growth and impact on others within their school, academics, team(s), and/or community.”

Dawson Sabah Kimyon is a Minneapolis based solo artist with a passion for musical storytelling.

Samuel John of the The Samuel John Band will be there. His band is actually having a Minnesota Goodbye EP release party at the 7th Street Entry on August 8, 2024. Other bands on the Aug 8 shows are Aaron Simmons, Adam Brandt and Cole Diamond.

Samuel John writes:

Only a few shows this month which is kind of by design. We’re gearing up for our EP release on August 8th and have a busy August and fall coming up. This month I get to spend more time with my wife Lauren and I have some time set aside for some long overdue get togethers with family and friends. With a full time day job, balance is key ⚖️

3 solo shows this month and one private show with the Samuel John Band. Come hang!
Sunday, July 14th 7PM: The Twin Cities Songwriter Rounds and my first time playing at the locally famous White Squirrel Bar
Thursday, July 18th 7PM: Ryders Saloon supporting Drew Cooper as he passes through town for his first show at Ryders
Friday, July 19th 6PM: Back to hang with the wonderful people at Big Rock Creek for their Fridays at the Farm series

If your band is coming to the Minneapolis/St Paul area, please email details to vu@weheartmusic.com with a good lead time. Thank you.
