My Morning Jacket
with Grace Cummings
at Armory

armorymn.com

My Morning Jacket returns to the Minneapolis area… playing their biggest venue yet: the Armory. MMJ’s 10th studio album, is, will come out March 21 on ATO Records.

We saw MMJ in June 2023 and noted, “There was quite the delay before My Morning Jacket took the stage. But it wasn’t a bad thing. Fans were still arriving for the early show. The roadies had quite a bit to set up. Plus they played some pretty good pre-show music, music you normally wouldn’t hear at a rock show with songs like “Caravan” and “Mood Indigo” from the Duke Ellington Orchestra. From Louisville, Kentucky MMJ the band consists of Jim James on lead vocals and guitar, Tom Blakenship on bass, Patrick Hallahan on drums, Carl Broemel on guitar and Bo Koster on Keyboards. Unlike most bands they released their self-titled album as their eleventh album in 2021, even celebrating their 1000th show earlier in June in the Netherlands of all places for it was there that a cult following began to form when they first started out. MMJ is definitely a band to see live. ”
Grace Cummings to open.

We saw Cummings in May 2022 and said, “Opening the show was Melbourne’s Grace Cummings. She’s joined on stage with her brother on guitars, Tyler on drums, Lino on bass (she also thanked her driver, “Chef”). The group appeared in good form, happy to be in Minneapolis in the Summer. Highlight of her set was a duet with Ezra Furman, for a cover of Bob Dylan’s “It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue”.
They ended their set with “Heaven”.”
