Flashback: Art Brut at Triple Rock (09 Nov 2009)

Oh man, how I love Art Brut. This isn’t really a band, it’s more like a weird art-rock with singer Eddie Argo “singing” or talking over music. Argo writes the best songs, like “Formed a Band”, which tells the secret origin of him forming a band: “Formed a band, we formed a band! Look at us, we formed a band! … And yes, this is my singing voice, it's not irony, it's not rock and roll. We’re just talking to the kids.”

The Jacksonville all-ages Palaye Royale show was supposed to be the grand opening for the new venue FIVE, which I would’ve loved to be there for their grand opening… but unfortunately, the venue just wasn’t ready to open (originally the venue was supposed to open in January). All FIVE shows in February was moved to another new venue called Decca Live, which just opened January 31, 2025.

I thought perhaps I’ll randomly see it in stores, and seeing it in person, I would pull the trigger. Of course, once I realized that this set is actually an Amazon exclusive, I just decided to get it. It arrived the next day at 5am. Unbelievable!
