Ali G Who Iz I
Ali G: Who Iz I? (2026)
Before Borat and Bruno, Sacha Baron Cohen was Ali G. He started his show Da Ali G Show on Channel 4 in the UK, before HBO swooped in and took over in 2003. The show was a satirical sketch comedy show, where Cohen plays this weird white man, who is deep in the African culture (that he probably thinks he’s black).
After all these years, Ali G is back in a new movie called Ali G: Who Iz I?
The start of the movie, Ali G explains who he was, and why he disappeared, to the vinyl scratch of DJ Jazzy Jeff. He was waiting for a massive HBO contract, but it never came. Eventually, to make money, Ali G started a TikTok channel.
I know most of the movie is fake, but sometimes, I think some of the footage is genuine. For example, that scene where Ali G is taking boner pills at this store and Ali G was saying they’re just a couple of black guys… it was uncomfortable.
By the way, I think Cohen plays several several characters, including Ali G’s enemies.
I think the best part of the movie is the brand new soundtrack, as only Ali G can describe it: “A$AP, Drake and Kendrick better check demselves before me wreck demselves coz dere a new rap king in town, Ali G. Me rhymes is tighter dan me Julie’s batty crease and sicker dan someone wiv a terrible cold or flu like symptoms. Check out me movie soundtrack produced by Hit-boy and Andrew Watt, wiv Questlove as Music Supervizor. Between dem, dese 3 geezers has won 14 Grannies. Respek.”

One Night Only (2026)
One Night Only (2026)
You know that horror franchise, The Purge? The concept behind that series is that for one night in the year, all crimes, including murder, is legal for 24 hours. In One Night Only, the government made it illegal to have pre-martial sex, except for one night a year… when sex between consenting unmarried adults is legal.
The story follows a pizza joint owner named Owen (Callum Turner), looking forward to sex with his girlfriend… when she decided to have sex with someone else that night. That sets off his journey of trying to find someone for the night. He crosses paths with Ally (played by Monica Barbaro), who is a singer trying to find her perfect someone.
Throughout the night, the two keeps running into each other. My favorite was when the two of them meet up at this one bodega trying to buy the last condom (for $200!).
After various sexattempts didn’t work out (Owen was robbed/scammed) and Ally was arrested with the thief… they meetup at the police station and then followed some party goers to see if they can hook up at that party.
It’s at that rich, private party that Owen meets this older rich woman and Ally meets this singer that she admired. As you guessed it, it didn’t work out for anyone that night. They ended up at square one, with Owen and Ally meeting at his pizza place. I would have ended the movie there, but instead it goes on.
I think it’s a great little romantic comedy, if that’s your cup of tea.
I do have some problems with the concept. I know this sounds scary and dystopian, but on a serious note, I don’t think it would be possible to outlaw sex. You would see so much protests and people just having sex to break the law … what are they going to do? Arrest 100,000 people?
The other thing is, there is no way on any planet that Monica Barbaro is single, she’s hotter than hell. Especially, in that dress?
