Margaret Glaspy is touring in support of I Am Both, the tour will stop in at the Fine Line, in Minneapolis, on September 11, 2026.
The ticket limit is strict. Any attempt to exceed the posted ticket limit per customer or household, or to game the system in any way, will result in cancellation of orders without notice. There is a transfer delay for all tickets prior to the show.
We saw Glaspy at Rock the Garden in July 2017 and wrote, “New York, by the way of California, Margaret Glaspy, with new bassist Daniel and drummer Tim Kuhl, started Rock the Garden 2017 off to a proper start. The majority of her set is taken from her solo debut album Emotions and Math (ATO Records), but you can tell that the former The Fundies singer was hard at work writing new songs. She played two of them near the end of her set, the latter of the two had some of the best lyrics, “I’m not your father, I’m not your mother. I’m not your sister trying to waste your time. I’m not the tax man.”
Anna Tivel to open.

Los Angeles’ Mini Trees is returning to Minnesota, playing the 7th Street Entry on September 12, 2026.
We saw Mini Trees in their first appearance in the area in April 2022 and wrote, “On their first appearance in the area, Los Angeles based Mini Trees thanked the audience for showing up early to hear them play. We wrote about the band in July 2021, saying that it was Lexi Vega’s solo musical project, and they will be releasing a debut album on Run For Cover Records. At that time, we actually didn’t know the title of her album… well I would like to report that the album is called Always In Motion, and the band played songs from that debut album… including “Carrying On” and “Cracks in the Pavement”. Many of Lexi’s songs are reflection of being a mix race of Cuban-born father and Japanese-American mother, and her perspective through her identity… never quite fitting in, growing up in suburban southern California. The group ended their set with their first single, “Spring”, which they jokingly hoped that Minnesota could one day enjoy (it’s been an absolutely miserably cold spring).”
frown line (the indie rock project of Montreal-based Annika Devlin) to open.

The incredibly popular Sugar (Bob Mould, David Barbe, and Malcolm Travis) sold out all their appearances at First Avenue, in Minneapolis, from September 10th to the 12th. No surprise, considering that former Minneapolis band leader Bob Moud was around the area when he started Hüsker Dü (with Greg Norton and Grant Hart – RIP).
Expect to hear old favorite Sugar hits like “If I Can’t Change Your Mind” and “Helpless”.

Selby Ave Jazz Fest

Selby Ave Jazz Fest (Sep 12, 2026)
September 12, 2026 Saturday
September 13, 2026 Sunday Selby Ave. Jazz Fest
at Selby Avenue
selbyavejazzfest.org
The annual Selby Ave. Jazz Fest is back on the weekend of September 12 and 13.
We attended Selby Ave last year and wrote, “The Selby Avenue Jazz Fest is in the heart of St. Paul, specifically, the Rondo neighborhood. It was founded in 2002 as a response to the one-year anniversary of 9/11. Co-founder, Michael Wright, felt a need to celebrate the good things going on in the world and in the heart of St. Paul, and he felt, “Nothing gets people together like a good old-fashioned block party.” The inaugural Jazz Fest had 600 people. There were quite a few more on Saturday. The original intent of getting people together was evident on arrival for it seemed everybody knew everybody. I have never seen more hugs shared at a music festival and I’ve been to a few EDM concerts. The colorful clothing added to the flair to the festivities. And as a side note, I was surprised to see so many tattoos, especially on attendees who could visit the AARP booth. My favorite sighting was a guy in his 80’s, dressed like he was going to go work out at the local gym. On his left calf there was US. On his right calf MC. Hooah!”

Join legendary Mint Condition frontman and former Walker|West student Stokley for an exclusive, full-circle masterclass at Harmony Hall on Sunday, September 13, 2026. This intimate session offers a rare opportunity to learn directly from a world-class vocalist and percussionist through personal insights, technique breakdowns, and a live Q&A.

03:00 PM – 4:30 PM | Stokley | Harmony Hall | Walker|West Music Academy

We are thrilled to announce that this year’s Selby Ave JazzFest Masterclass will be led by the one and only Stokley. As the voice of Mint Condition and a chart-topping solo artist, Stokley’s influence on R&B, Soul, and Jazz is unmatched.

This is more than just a class; it is a full-circle moment for our community. Stokley’s own musical journey included time as a student right here at Walker|West, and we are incredibly proud to welcome him back to the halls where he once honed his craft. This is a rare opportunity to learn from a world-class percussionist, vocalist, and songwriter in an intimate setting.
