Site Update: W♥M Events Calendar
As part of maintaining the Minneapolis Previews, I have been also adding individual date as an event listing in our Events Calendar.
The W♥M calendar is using WordPress’ oldest Event Calendar Plugin, which is a pretty good free plugin. Of course it’s not perfect. Some listings sometime do not display correctly (or at all), so I will have to delete the listing and re-add the listing and the second time will show up. The best features, such as reoccurring events and photo calendar are locked behind a paid subscription. Their subscription starts at $149 and goes up to $699 for one year… which I find is too expensive, especially if I only need one feature.
From my understanding, in October 2025, the plugin is now offering color-coding to free users, so I’ve taken advantage of that. Now you will see different colors for Minneapolis, Jacksonville, and Kansas City (if there are event listed). It looks pretty cool now.
If you were interested, you can also subscribe to our calendar via Google, IOS, or Outlook.
The easiest subscription is Google Calendar. If you are signed into your Google account, it is just a click or two and voila, the W♥M calendar will appear in your calendar. I haven’t tested it out on IOS (since I don’t use Macs), but I am assuming it’s also very easy.
Outlook was a little tricky… and it may be because I have locked down the Calendar option for spam abuse (spammers will send you calendar invites and spam will appear in your calendar without your permission – so I’ve locked it down). Anyway, what I did was sign into Outlook on my browser and add the W♥M calendar “via web”. Find “add link” and copy and paste this in: https://wheartm.com/events/month/?outlook-ical=1You can also assign it an icon and color – which I chose the heart and red as the color.
NOTE: I am only seeing two weeks’ worth of events. I am assuming more events will be added as time goes by.
