Our Italian partner Kalporz saw Chicago’s Circuit des Yeux at Arci Bellezza, Milan, Italy on November 20, 2025. The band was last seen in Minneapolis in April 2025.
What caught my eye was that Minnesota’s own Alan Sparhawk (from Low) was the guitarist for Circuit des Yeux. Even the author, Raffaele Concollato, confessed that he was one of the star attractions: “let’s face it the presence of a special guitarist like Alan Sparhawk to convince several people to be there.”
The show was described as a mix of “country, disco and synth pop” and it was also noted that singer Haley Fohr was showing signs of advanced pregnancy. I guess it’s a good thing that the tour ended shortly after this show (their last European appearance was at Full Of Lava festival on November 21st.)
Fohr posted an update on her pregnancy on her Patreon on December 1st. She mentioned that “I have done around 5 headlining tours in support of Halo On The Inside since its release in March. I was pregnant during all of them. I found out I was 8 weeks pregnant in Krems, Austria after puking on the side of the autobahn.”
She ends her post with some tips for touring musicians (who may also be pregnant), that you should never lift or carry anything. Hire a professional tour manager (“do not hire a friend”) and pay him or her at least $200 a day. That sounds like it was one of the highest costs of the tour. However, he/she is responsible to handle a lot, including promoters/techs, collecting payments, arranging for dinner, map/logistics (including scheduling breaks), hotel arrangements, selling merch, helping with driving, etc. I’ve chatted with tour managers before, I had no idea all the hats they have to wear!
P.S. There was no mentioning of the opening band, but according to the poster, it appears Ethan was the support act. I couldn’t find any info on “Ethan” (performers should choose a unique stagename in my opinion)… and after a bit of research, I believe it may be “Ethanlara.” The YouTube video shows him as a performance artist and vocalist.
