Mpls: November 21 to November 22, 2026
Here are some shows in Minneapolis/St Paul from November 21 to November 22, 2026: • The Jayhawks at State Theatre (Nov 21, 2026) • Porch Light at First Avenue (Nov 21, 2026) • The Kilans at 7th St Entry (Nov 22, 2026)
Local heroes The Jayhawks will be headlining the State Theatre, in Minneapolis, on November 21, 2026, in support of their new album Sanctuary Park (out now via Thirty Tigers)
We saw the Jayhawks in December 2018 and wrote, “Since reuniting in 2014 with their 1997-era line up (Gary Louris; Marc Perlman; Karen Grotberg; Tim O’Reagan; John Jackson) The Jayhawks have shown little signs of slowing down, releasing another record of new music this year, Back Roads and Abandoned Motels (Legacy Recordings), a collection of two new songs alongside contributions songwriter Gary Louris wrote for other outside projects. With thirty-five years of material to draw from, the band’s two-hour fifteen-minute set started on a classic upswing with 2000’s ‘I’m Gonna Make you Love Me’ then dove back to the 1989 Blue Earth album for deep cut, ‘Ain’t No End’, before jumping back ahead twenty-five years to 2016’s ‘Quiet Corners & Empty Spaces’.”
Minneapolis band Porch Light will be headlining a homecoming show at First Avenue, on November 21, in support of Hush (Mom + Pop Records).
The ticket limit is strict. Any attempt to exceed the posted ticket limit per customer or household, or to game the system in any way, will result in cancellation of orders without notice. There is a transfer delay for all tickets prior to the show.
We saw Porch Light at the Minnesota Yacht Club in July 2026 and wrote, “Porch Light are a Minneapolis based quintet who have only been around since 2024. We have been fortunate enough to have seen the indie rockers a couple of times, most recently playing before a Minnesota United soccer game in May 2025. They have released their EP Navy Blue and are headed out on an extensive US tour this fall. Coming out with that strong dual guitar and bass with Jackie Uhas’s clear alto lyrics was a great opening statement. There’s definitely been some growth in performance and confidence and it’s fun to watch this bond grow. That crushing instrumental close had both guitarists (Zac Fogarty and Kyle Seimon) rocking across the stage and the mood was a blast. The second number had crowd singing along and the vocals were loud but still let that great guitar shine. Porch Light has found a solid musical niche that has a little bit of timeless rock to it. Arctic had pulsing bass (Henry Hughes) and drums (Isaiah Trimbo) to match and it’s the summation of the parts that makes this fly. The song’s end let those vocals open up and they were nailing the assignment. Things were moving efficiently, as they hit their fourth song by the ten minute mark. Noting they have an album, Hush, upcoming and a show at First Avenue in November, Porch Light’s stock continues to rise. Vocals again got the chance to swell to full throated chrouses and the emotional pull was palpable. The highest praise that I can give is that Porch Light’s set felt like a headliner’s and cramming it all into 30 minutes was beyond impressive. Catch this band on their first tour and you will not be disappointed.”
John Gallagher Jr. (no relation to Noel or Liam) to open.
