On a cool summer evening (the best time of year!), it was a jazz influenced evening with Mei Semones headlining at 7th St. Entry in Minneapolis.
Andrew Bird is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. Since 1996, he has released 16 studio albums, as well as several live albums and EPs, spanning various genres including swing music, indie rock, and folk music. He is primarily known for his unique style of violin playing, accompanied by loop and effect pedals, whistling, and vocals. In the 1990s, he sang and played violin in several jazz ensembles, including Squirrel Nut Zippers and Kevin O’Donnell’s Quality Six.

Lara tells me that Margaret Cho is beloved by Asians and gay men. It made me question myself when I'm qualified as both Asian and male. To be honest, I think she's well loved beyond those two groups, even by white people. (That's a joke). Most people may remember Cho as the force behind All American Girl on ABC, advertised for being the "first" all Eastern Asian television show. While this show drew criticism from the Asian community for stereotyping Asians, I just think they didn't understand the humor... I mean how else are you going to make a funny program about race without a little stereotype?
