This is a bonus news post for today.� Jamie Lidell’s been on the mind of Sally lately, so I thought I’d put together this article for her.
Lidell’s new (pending) album is called Compass, to be released on Warp Records on May 17th (US residents will have to wait a full day). Fans who can’t wait to hear the new album, you can head over to jamielidell.com and preview the album.

I got a chance to watch this “Making of” video of Compass, and the one thing I’ve got out of this video is that Lidell’s beard is out of control. Oh, and there’s some guest appearances: apparently Beck, Feist, Chris Taylor (the guy from Grizzly Bear, not the game designer), and Pat Sansone, are on the album. Either Feist is really short of Jamie Lidell is over 10 feet tall, see picture.
From the video, Jamie describes his time with Beck as being brief (with only three days) and that he was gutted that he had a cold. He ended up “shouting” his song.
