“Holy S**t, It’s Christmas” says it all. I was glad to have caught Deer Tick earlier this year, you know, when it was warmer. Now that it’s snowing, I don’t venture out so much in the snow, but that just means I’m more productive listening and writing about Christmas music.
They only sent me “Christmas All Summer Long” to listen to, and I can tell you it’s very garagey… but that sound just makes me think of hot, hot, hot Beach weather … in the 1950s.
Anyway, the good news is that as a holiday treat, Deer Tick is releasing, not one, but two Christmas songs, “Christmas All Summer Long” and “Holy S**t, It’s Christmas”. The songs are available as a $2 purchase via iTunes, but why would you want to do that when you can get it FREE via Partisan Records. Until December 26th the label is giving you the two tracks if you buy any Deer Tick-related releases.
While I’m at it, I should also mention that singer/songwriter John McCauley and guitarist Ian O’Neil have recently announced a some acoustic shows in early 2011:
