I previously mentioned Ballaké Sissoko as a kora player, and now, it looks like Sissoko has a new album, At Peace (coming out February 5th, 2013, via Six Degrees Records). He's also heading out on tour, expect to see his collaborator Vincent Segal on the cello, from their previously album, Chamber Music!

We've been following Emeli Sandé's rise to fame for a while now. Since her TV performances at last year's Olympics, I've noticed a huge interest in her music from fans of Adele and Paloma Faith.
Guess what? Leading the Brit Awards is Sandé with four nominations! I'm certain she will win something for her debut album, Our Version of Events.
When I saw Sande at the Dakota Jazz Club last year, she basically did her entire album. Hopefully, with this new 2013 tour, we will get some new live songs.

Hopefully the sister/brothers in Ménage (short for "ménage à trois") aren't practicing anything naughty… although if you take the phrase literally, it just means "household of three", by itself it just means "household."
As expected, Ménage is an alt/rock/pop trio from Los Angeles. Growing up in Toronto might have had a hand in exposing the band's single "These Are The Days" on Canada's Degrassi and "Tonight" on Muchmusic (Canada's answer to MTV… at least when MTV was still playing music videos).
