The Devil Makes Three

I see a lot of shows, and one of the stand-out performances was seeing Devil Makes Three at the Triple Rock last year. They blew me away with their sold-out bluegrass/punk/country show
DEVIL MAKES THREE

Rootsy acoustic threesome The Devil Makes Three will be bringing their spirited brand of folk and bluegrass to First Avenue next month! Dropping October 30th will be the band’s fourth full length album I’m a Stranger Here, which saw the trio working with Nashville producer and singer/songwriter Buddy Miller (Solomon Burke, Patty Griffin).

The group consists of singer/guitarist Pete Bernhard, guitarist Cooper McBean and Lucia Turino playing the coolest instrument of all: upright bass! After a warm reception at two notable festivals this year (American Music Festival in Nashville and San Francisco’s Hardly Strictly Bluegrass) TDM3 will be kicking off a fall tour in Colorado Springs on Halloween night.

Autumn is the absolute perfect time for this band to hit the road; their lively finger-picking-heavy melodies will serve as an excellent soundtrack to crisper temperatures and the brightly changing landscape. There’s also a haunted, nostalgic quality to the songs, especially lyrically. Themes like heartbreak and lonely nights spent with the bottle generously pepper the music. It’s some real dark night of the soul stuff, ragtime style.

The Devil Makes Three will be in Minneapolis Thursday November 7th. C’mon out and see what all the fuss is about!

Three Days Grace

Shinedown & Three Days Grace (with special guest P.O.D.) are currently on their co-headlining arena tour. They stopped over in Minneapolis’ Target Center to rock the stadium.
THREE DAYS GRACE

I saw Three Days Grace on their co-headlining tour with Shrinedown, and I have to say that bar-none, Three Days Grace was the superior of the two bands based on their stage presence, their live show setup (fireballs!!) and tight set.

The Canadian rockers are enjoying eleven #1 singles on the Active Rock Radio, according to Mediabase, with their latest third single “Misery Loves My Company”, from their successful chart debuting album Transit of Venus, current #1. This puts the band on par with other similar chart-topper acts: Linkin Park, Seether, Disturbed, and, of course, Godsmack.

Here’s their scheduled tour dates:

12/06/13 Barrie, ON The Ranch

12/11/13 Montreal, QC Metropolis

12/14/13 Sound Academy Toronto, ON Canada
