Spinning out of the group Floetry, Marsha Ambrosius is back with her second solo album, Friends & Lovers (RCA Records), a follow up to the 2011 album that garnered the Liverpool UK native two Grammy nominations. There’s enough sexual innuendo on the new album to give it a ‘Parental Advisory’ sticker, though Ambrosius also managed to partner with Target, to offer additional bonus songs on their version. Prince is a fan, so who knows if the Purple One may pop in to check out the performance.

Busdriver (aka Los Angeles producer /underground rapper Regan Farquhar) made a somewhat surprise appearance locally last year during CocoRosie’s set, but is back this time announced, in support of latest album, Perfect Hair (Big Dada Records), with lead single “Ego Deathâ€. You’ll just have to check out the show in person, to see if the hair is really all that perfect in concert.

Long Island, NY singer-songwriter/rapper Jon Bellion comes to town promoting the recently released, The Definition (Visionary Music Group) drawing on a style influenced by Kanye West, Coldplay, John Mayer, and André 3000 among others. Behind the scenes, Bellion has collaborated with the likes of Eminem and Jason DeRulo, but the music on The Beautiful Mind Tour, should all be his.

Rising from the ashes of previous bands, Something Corporate and Jack's Mannequin, singer-songwriter Andrew McMahon has blazed a successful trail all over again, this time under his own name.
Debut full-length Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness (Vanguard Records) was just released last week, and is already making waves with single, "Cecilia and the Satellite", named for his young daughter and is out solo after playing this summer with Matt Nathanson and Gavin DeGraw.
