Tennis
with Billie Marten
at First Ave

Acclaimed indie-pop duo Tennis (husband and wife Patrick Riley and Alaina Moore) is touring in support of Face Down In The Garden (Mutually Detrimental). The tour will stop by First Avenue, in Minneapolis, on May 21, 2025.

We saw Tennis in April 2023 and said, “So it’s been a long time since we last saw the band. This is due to conflicting shows, or the fact that the COVID pandemic caused cancellations throughout the last few years. Seeing the band on stage, you can tell that the band is very excited to be playing live again. As you can see in some of the photos below, Alaina’s look is of love and adoration. It carries in the way she sings and how the band play to the beat.”

Billie Marten to open. We caught Billie Marten in June 2023 and said, “Billie Marten is a woman in love, she asks “Anyone in love?” Every note, every words, there is a hint of longing. From what I’ve gathered, listening to her talk, her love (Will Taylor of Flyte) was very far away. Of course, the longing and sadness could have something to do with her severe seasonal affective disorder (SAD).”
