Jax in June
I am reworking the way I do previews for Jacksonville shows. It’s clear to me that many events (particularly outdoor events) are at the mercy of weather and often shows aren’t announced that far in advance. It’s also clear to me that there are not many bands wants to play here, because they prefer to play Miami or Orlando. Basically, what I am saying is that Jacksonville is just not that busy, compared to major cities like Minneapolis/St Paul.
What I’ll continue to do is to update and add events, via W♥M Event Calendar and will spotlight some shows in an overall monthly look ahead, and perhaps include Something for the Weekend (last-minute show announcements).
As you can see from my Jacksonville contribution in the past three months, I’m only averaging about three shows a month. That’s a huge reduction from my usual 20-30 shows a month when I was living in Minneapolis.
With the massive Jacksonville Jazz Festival coming later this month (start on May 22, 2026), I will hopefully be there on all the dates to cover the funky George Clinton, Sheila E, CHIC, among others. I am hoping to sneak in my long lens for my camera… but if they turn me away, I do have a backup plan to produce some photos. I just cannot believe this event is free. I went last year (my first time) and had a great time watching Kool and the Gang.
With all that said, here are some shows taking place in Jacksonville and nearby cities, for the month of June 2026: • Supernova – A Tribute to Oasis at The Albatross (Jun 11, 2026) • Lowertown at Hard Love, Jacksonville (June 19, 2026) • The Runarounds at FIVE (June 20, 2026)

If you missed the Liam and Noel Oasis reunion due to very expensive tickets and limited locations (that’s fine, I’ve seen them a few times, including their first American tour in 1994)… well the next best thing is to see Supernova, an Oasis Tribute band at the Albatross (formerly Underbelly).
Note: This Supernova is based out of Georgia, there is another Supernova Oasis tribute band based in the UK and an 11-piece Oasis Supernova band, which I think is based out of Manchester (Oasis’s hometown). It is a popular name for an Oasis tribute band… personally, my all time favorite is Noasis, No Way Sis, and AISIS (AI version of Oasis).
Anyway, the cover lover band announced a string of Florida dates:
Oasis like it was meant to be heard. Live and loud.

📍Jacksonville → The Albatross → Thu June 11
📍Lake Buena Vista → House of Blues Orlando → Fri June 12
📍Gainesville → Signal → Saturday June 13.

Every anthem, every deep cut, all of it done proper.

Oasis is going into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year. Come find out why.

Where were you when we were getting high?

New York, by the way of Atlanta, Lowertown (Olivia Osby and Avsha Weinberg) is touring in support of their new album Ugly Duckling Union. The band is playing Minneapolis tonight (May 12) and will stop by Jacksonville in June, at the Hard Love. I’ve never heard of this venue, it sounds like a small, cozy space.
Truman Sinclair to open.

The Runarounds at FIVE (June 20, 2026)

The Runarounds

American rock band The Runarounds will be headlining FIVE, in Jacksonville, on June 20, 2026, as part of their Minivan Tour.
We saw the band earlier in Feb 2026 and said, “Headliners The Runarounds were up next. Formed in 2021, the band was not originally supposed to perform at First Avenue, but at nearby Fine Line. Having blown off the doors on sales, they got promoted to the main stage (very nearly filling it to capacity), and the excitement from the crowd was palpable. In a very modern day turn of events, The Runarounds have landed a serious following through their TV series on Amazon Prime that features them in a mix of real and fictional situations and characters, but highlights their music throughout. The quintet (vocals/guitar, guitar/vocals, guitar, bass, and drums) came to stage and the crowd erupted. With multiple singers, the band hit with a wave of sound with all those voices and guitars. Sophia was super charged and had band and audience all hyped up. After the first bit of banter, including the note of being in the iconic venue, they rolled into 15 Rootbeers, with the crowd singing along in full voice. Crossroads was a new song and had some nice bright guitar riffs to nearly be in pop rock mode. The alternating lead vocalists even within a song was a nice effect for The Runarounds, and it created a change of pace throughout. When Beautiful Stranger started, I was unsure who was louder on vocals, but the crowd might have been winning. Perhaps it’s because of their experience on the TV show, but the band’s repartee with the crowd was easy going and humorous and continued to reward the audience.”
