We admit it, we already miss all the World Cup happenings,

It ended up being a six-week party in the metro that exceeded most expectations, and brought a few. free. concerts. along the way, which is never a bad thing. Now, we’re just back to a sweltering Midwest summer, but never fear- the shows listed below for this week are indoors (or under Morton’s canopy), so kick back and rock out!

Let’s look at the upcoming week in Kansas City / Lawrence KS metro musical happenings from July 20^th to July 23^rd.

MONDAY JULY 20

Belmont, July 20, recordBar,$33.50

Chicago-based band Belmont is s currently on their Between You & Me 10 Year Anniversary Tour. The tour celebrates a decade of their breakout EP, which they are playing in its entirety. The tour features support from Major League, Spite House, and all in ur head.

Best known for playing pop-punk and easycore, Belmont’s sound is considered highly eclectic, blending those styles with progressive punk, math rock, metal, electronic, and jazz fusion elements.

They were formed in Chi-Town in 2014 by frontman Taz Johnson while in high school, signed to Pure Noise Records, and the core current lineup consists of Johnson (vocals), Brian Lada (drums, guitar, bass, and programming), and Jason Inguagiato (guitar).

TUESDAY JULY 21

The Pretty Reckless, July 21, The Midland, $48.90

The Pretty Reckless’ 2026 “Dear God World Tour” supports their fifth studio album of the same name and features 31 stops across North America and Europe, (including supporting AC/DC) and includes lead single “When I Wake Up.” Support for the show includes Jacko’s daughter, Paris Jackson and doug.

Fronted by the incomparable Taylor Momsen, since their debut Light Me Up, they’ve earned acclaim with hits including “Heaven Knows” and made history as the first female-fronted band to score eight No. 1 singles on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart. We caught Taylor live last year in Birmingham,UK helping sing during the Black Sabbath/ Ozzy farewell show.

Being As an Ocean w/Upon Your Dead Body, lowheaven, July 21 The Rino,$24.63

Alpine, CA post-hardcore band Being As An Ocean recently released the song, “Only Light Fills The Frame,” the brand new single that follows up previous single, “None But One” and 2024’s full-length, Death Can Wait. The song is said to speak directly to the depressed, the grieving, the lost, and the isolated.

“But it is, ultimately, about choosing to stay,” the band says. “About accepting that while ending it all may seem like the easier path, there is transformative power and profound courage in enduring, in waking up another day, and choosing to search for the light, the beauty, even when surrounded by darkness.”

WEDNESDAY JULY 22

Cypress Hill / The Urge, July 22, Uptown,$42.30 (w/BOGO)- $113

Cypress Hill’s 2026 tour, the Once Upon A Time In The Summer Tour, is celebrating the group’s 35th anniversary, featuring their classic West Coast hip-hop sound and…uh, appreciation for the green leaf.

Three decades ago, B-Real, Sen Dog, and DJ Muggs named themselves after a local street in Los Angeles and burst on the scene in 1991 with the release of their self-titled debut album. The singles “How I Could Just Kill a Man” and “The Phuncky Feel One” became underground hits, and the group’s public pro-marijuana stance earned them many fans among the alternative rock community.

The group would go on to become the first rap group to have two albums in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 charts at the same time and are the first Latino-American hip-hop group to have achieved both platinum and multi-platinum success. They made history again in 2019 when the group was honored with their very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Expect the hits, the ‘hits’ and some smoky haze. Bone Thugs have unexpectedly dropped out again, so leave it to St. Louis legends, The Urge, to open the show up right.

Harvey Street, July 22, Encore at Uptown,$28.30

Harvey Street is a high-energy indie and alternative rock band from Raleigh, NC known for their live performances and emotionally driven songwriting. Blending modern indie rock textures with classic alt-rock grit and described as having “disciplined electricity,” the five-piece delivers a sound balancing atmospheric guitars, driving rhythms, and melodic hooks.

The band has previously completed four headline tours across 22 states and supported notable artists including Flipturn, Moon Taxi, Futurebirds, The Stews, Arcy Drive, Daniel Donato, and others.

THURSDAY JULY 23

Tape B and Levity, July 23, Morton Amph, 2 for $55- $82

Two of electronic music’s current big names are joining together for a massive summer amphitheater EDM takeover. Florida-based bass phenoms Tape B and Chicago-bred electronic trio Levity have announced the Tape B x Levity: Summer Program Tour, a 12-city co-headline amphitheater run, going July 17 through August 22.

Collectively, Tape B and Levity enter the tour with a combined digital audience of nearly one million fans and over 1.4 million monthly Spotify listeners and now for the first time, the two acts unite for a full co-headline tour and plan on delivering a nightly collision of cinematic production, nostalgic bass, and emotionally charged drops built for summer stages. Bring your glowsticks!

Buddy Guy, July 23, Prairie Band Casino-Mayetta,$123.50

You’re damn right he’s still got the Blues! At just shy of 90 years old, Buddy Guy remains a singular force in music and is fresh off earning his ninth GRAMMY® Award in 2026 for Best Traditional Blues Album (Ain’t Done with the Blues). As one of the last few living architects of electric blues, he will celebrate a historic milestone with the Buddy Guy 90 Tour.

A true pioneer of the Chicago blues sound, Guy has been hailed as one of the greatest guitarists of all time with a career spanning over seven decades. The word ‘living legend’ applies more than ever here and he remains the master of his craft.

Marcus King Band w Penelope Road, July 23, Uptown, $58-$120

Grammy–Award nominated country-americana star Marcus King is on the road this summer with his band for the Darling Blue Pt. 2 Tour, a 39-city run across the continent. Fresh from an Australian headline run in April and festival performances at Stagecoach Music Festival, Bourbon & Beyond, Gulf Coast Jam and more, he and the band are back to headlining.

King closed out 2025 with the release of his highly anticipated new album, Darling Blue, taking listeners through his love for the Blue Ridge Mountains as well as his state of mind before and after he met his wife, Briley.

Arrive early for Atlanta’s Penelope Road, a five-piece band signed to Warner Records. They blend 70s rock, funk, and soul into a groovy sound they playfully describe as “stanky funky junk”. The band name comes from the street they lived on together during their college years.
