Francoise Hardy – Catch a Falling Star
Lisa sent me this Francoise Hardy mix cd a while back, which I was listening in my car for a while. Anyroad, I was driving with a passenger and she put on the Hardy CD and kind of listened and skip and skip (which is kind of understandable since the majority of Hardy’s works are in French and neither of us understood it).

Then she got to this song, “Catch a Falling a Star”, which was an instant hit. She was actually singing to the song. I didn’t know the words, but I knew it was an older/familiar tune.
As it turns out, this was a big hit for Perry Como back in 1958. It was a big deal, he got a Grammy for the song, and it went gold.
The album art, displayed here, is not from any album, but something Lisa made. I don’t honestly know what album it’s on, but I’m sure it’s probably on a greatest hits CD.
Trivia: The song was written by Paul Vance, who is probably most famous for “Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini”.
vu who met lisa accidentally through spam. true story.
(Dom) My mother and my sisters used to get together and sing this song to my daughter. So this song has a soft spot in my heart.
